This professional
looking cart, even with what appears to be a brand
name of it, is the Super 8 in 1. I don't know
much about Game Star, but one thing is for
sure...they make kick ass pirates. The cart you see
below has a lot of cool looking games on the label.
But the coolest is Sonic the Hedgehog, and
yes, it's actually on the cart!
Sonic and Knuckles on the 8 in 1 label.
Why is Sonic the Hedgehog so cool? Because
it was never made for the Famicom. Sonic is, of
course, the
mascot for Sega. What makes it astounding to find
this
game on a Famicom cart is that the makers of this
pirate likely ported the game to
properly work on the Famicom. And they didn't do too
bad of a job.

The start screen doesn't even say "Push Start."
The game is fairly fun. Sonic can roll into a
ball, spin really fast and run even faster. His
ability to jump is a little bit rigid, but overall
every aspect of Sonic is high quality. There's three
"acts" for each level and you have to defeat Dr.
Eggman at the end of each level.

The golden rings rotate as if on an axis.

Sonic starts with five lives and the timer is
useless.

No problem breathing underwater, Sonic is pictured
here submersed.
This pirate cost me $15 bucks. You can expect to
pay between $10 and $40 for a unique single-game
cart like this.
Here's the games list:
Sonic 5; 97 NBA; Donkey Kong 3; Bomber Man; 1942;
Super Mario; Macross; F-1 Race.
