Title: Mighty No. 9
Post by: Nightstar699 on September 01, 2013, 10:26:27 pm
Forgive me if there was already a topic regarding this, I couldn't find one for it, and I was wondering if any of you guys had heard about this.

It's been a long time since I've been excited for a new game release... Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was the last one, and ended up being among the biggest disappointments in my life, and it made me rather reluctant to have high hopes for an upcoming game release. But since this project is the work of Inafune himself, I'm actually rather hopeful of it. I think it's going to be pretty cool, if it does see the light of day.

Tempting to get the physical box, but at $60 I can't persuade myself it's a good idea.

Glad to see this is basically guaranteed funding - it's nearly there even after what is it a day??

Kickstarter has it's fair share of tripe, but I'll buy this when it arrives.  I'm not going to pay in advance though.

Super Potato

Edit.. the game looks like it's going to be a sooped up version of megaman. Sweet!

I guess this is as close to a new Rockman as we get. I have no complains!
I hope it comes to Wii U as well.

Looks decent but I do not like that its only for PC.

That looks really cool. And it definitely says something about the power of the retro gaming community when an indie "not-Mega Man" game by the Mega Man creator can be crowd-funded in just over 24 hours. I might have to give it a try when it comes out.

Aren't most new console games $60?

Will be a worthy project so long as Capcom doesn't try and shut it down.  But man, a million in a day.  I wonder if that's a kickstarter record?  Either way, I'd say you can never doubt hardcore fans, given that Star Citizen is at $17 million.

b1aCkDeA7h, I'd like to see it released on Ouya, we already have a decent Megaman styled game called "League of Evil" but this game would be amazing!

Is that right? The game is said to be released on 2015? Wouldn't ps3 and 360 be completely replaced by ps4 and xbox1? I guess it wouldn't matter. It'll be there in the shop anyways. I want a physical 3ds version though!!!

I think this might be the first Kickstarter I take the plunge for.  I want that Fami cart an this is probably the only way to get it.

Well, looks like it made it to every console and handheld possible.  The Famicom USB sold me as well.

I passed it up, it was a small fami-style nib, I'll just make my own cart I think :)  Definitely getting the game after I saw that early footage.

They won't do it, they said it's not a viable release... Forget them... I am not playing this game ever because they have offended me.

Hoping you're joking!

No I am being serious, they are releasing it on every other platform except Ouya... even the Wii U gets a release... those bastards.

I've heard the Ouya has a shady business team, maybe that's got something to do with it.  You've got some of the other systems haven't you?  You could get it on there.  Maybe they don't have Android or Unity programmers on their team, i wouldn't hold it against them.  Maybe Ouya team didn't offer help like the others did.

I have a PC and PS3, but honestly they won't be releasing it on PS3... As PS4 will be full swing by then. And I hate playing games on my PC screen (PC screens are too tiny) and I don't want to pull it over to my tv to play it that way.
What shady business practices do you speak of?

I donated to Mighty #9 but I totally regret it now...

They will. MN9 for PS3 was one of the goals, and it was reached. It´s all up to you if you wish to play it on PS3 on release.

I'd rather have it released on Ouya, a console designed specifically for Indie's...

Surely that's PC.  I don't think you should take it to heart though, Ouya are new at this and maybe there's just not the support needed, or some other concern.

Here's a platform everyone can agree on--a Famicom version! (full disclosure: my stuff)

Yes but they're very tiny - I passed.

Ribbon Black's mockup is infinitely better, I'm making one like that with a Rockman hack.

Dream on, Jascony! (I know I am!)

I'd pay handsomely for an FC de-make of that, MM 9/10, etc.

There are de-makes of 7, 8 and R+F available for PC, did you see them?

I don't keep up with PC gaming, but I'd heard something of the 7 de-make. Maybe I should look for them...

Rockman and Forte may not be finished, but they're great de-makes, check 'em out on YouTube!!

Free game Mighty Gunvolt for all backers! Except that it's USA region only? WTF!?

They apologized for it in the mail in Japanese but not in English!

Yeah they did.

Quote
MIGHTY GUNVOLT MINI-FAQ
If I don't have a 3DS, is it possible to get Mighty Gunvolt for some other system?
Sorry, but no. Mighty Gunvolt is only available for the 3DS.

If I live outside North America, is it possible to get a code for my region?
Sorry but we can only offer everyone North American 3DS eShop codes. We realize backers come from all over the world, and we very much value our fans from other countries, but unfortunately region-free codes were not an option, so we picked the region where the majority of our backers hailed from.

I hit the double whammy by living outside US and not having a 3DS, so I just gave my code away.
