I doubt you are going to get what you want. People are HIGHLY against the reproduction of extremely limited carts, especially if they are made to look exact like the official cart.

If you want a complete collection, then a repro really wouldn't suffice, especially making it look like an original That's kind of like lying to yourself.

Drakon

Make a repro that obviously looks like a repro and proudly display it.

Yes, & make it better!

Official gold cartridge, you say? Mine are constructed from ivory tusks!

Ivory tusks you say? Mine have been constructed out of the largest, purest emerald known to man and dolphin.

As far as I know the guy who owns it is a NA member named DreamTR or something like that.  i know his real name is Jason.   I know there is only one and he IS a prototype collector, on top of having everything else you could ever dream of.  I think someone asked for info about it before there and was told flat out NO.  The retrozone repro is the best you will ever do since the repro is a dump of DreamTR's cart.  All hush hush secret bullshit.

Nintendo also made protos that fit on the same cartridge thingy that used the campus challenge. So not only do you need to make the circuit board and find the chips, but also you'll need to have one of the plastic shells if you want it to be anywhere near the original. I have some of the shells with proto circuit boards, but all mine are for the sfc (no idea what the campus challenge bottom of the cartridge shape was).

To get the back of the circuit board, the circuit board would have to be taken off the plastic shell (shell covers bottom of board completely). And since Jason's the only one to have it, you're not going to get him to take apart the proto to give pictures.

I think to get anywhere near authentic that you'll be putting a lot of money into this and won't get anywhere near exact. Trying to find similar chips and switches will not only cost money but also time. And something won't be the same. I have 5 or six of those shells and I think I have the largest cache of them I've ever seen--you're never going to get enough to make enough profit to resell to recoup your investment.

Especially with the stigma of copying something so rare. I also agree with those who don't want copies of rarities like this made too, but I think even more than that -- comon sense that the cost makes it unreasonable.

Wow that is really cool man!  :o  I love the prototype stuff, being artistic/being in a technical art as well, I like to see the in between steps.
