About $38 USD

Very cool.  I really like the book layout.

I question the legality of printing all this artwork for which he has no rights.  I guess that's Kickstarter for you, though ;D

Well, it looks really nice but 40€ is little bit to much for pay to some guy i never heard about.
I have no idead about the book-quality(print quality, text, etc).

Just as some background, the guy doing the book is Stu Brett aka Superfamicomguy. He has one of the biggest western SFC blog for years and one of the nicest SFC collections around. I know the guy and he's a pretty stand up fellow. I've helped him with some of the rarest and hardest to find SFC CIB titles.

Take that for what you will, I realize you don't know me either  ;D

You can see the current incarnation of his blog here (fairly recent re-work). I forget the reason why he shutdown his original, very popular blog site. Some great articles:

I might back it, but I was kind've hoping he's not using his own games for the photography, some are just a bit worn around the edges.

I have the Megadrive book pre-ordered, I think I wish this followed that approach more, looking at the whole shebang and history rather than just boxart.

He is a very nice guy, I've also spoken to him before.  I don't' really think it makes sense to use the Famicom font, why not the SFC font and packaging style?  That would make more sense - but the page layout is very nice that's for sure.  Nice and vibrant, and he sure does know his SFC games very well.

Gonna have a think before I back, Joe's got a point if it's not officially endorsed, but I do hope it doesn't get shut down or anything, it's clearly a labour of love.

btw... it doesn't take care of everything, but it shows that this angle has been considered

He's a good guy and it shows through that statement I'd say.  I do wish he'd use the SuFami font though - I just spent the last hour searching for it online!

WTF, why the hell was it canceled? It's not like he didn't have any backers.
Here are a few games I am looking for right now
Super Puzzle Fighter II X (Sega Saturn)
GeGeGe no Kotarou (Sega Saturn)
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Sega Saturn)
KiKi KaiKai (PC Engine) (CIB)
Puzzle Bobble (Super Famicom) (CIB)

Copyright issues... however there's still a chance. Talked with Stu and he's been approached by a few publishers.

Well that's a silver lining, I expect it'll happen after all.  Still wishing it had stronger SFC branding though through and through :)

I didn't go for the limited option myself - just after the book mainly.

Hmm...it'd be like $55 shipped for me, but it's still very tempting!

I'm just never sure what to do with art books.  I have this great Amano / Final Fantasy art book, but it just sits in a closet :-[

I know the Amano one you are probably talking about - it's huge...

As to what to do with these - I'd suggest getting it, reading it whenever you need a quiet 15 mins with a coffee / whiskey and soaking them up over time.

I ordered next day shipping so will post some pics and a review when it arrives.  Spoke to the creator and not quite finished yet, but I think its nearly there...
