i got this today

I can see some cables on the inside... I wonder what mod they used and what quality.
I'll have to replace that broken bottom plastic.

It is time consuming to replace att the outputs on the back for the RCA connections.

I've wanted one of these for a while, how is the picture quality on it?  I heard some have jailbars.

Is it something I could trade with you for, or something you'd prefer to keep?

Being from 2007 , I assume they didn't have that perfect mod back then.

I still have to try it out.

It has a good picture without jailbars. Seems they enhanced the sound also.

My colleague took it for some more investigation. But I am open to sell.

edit:
seems to be this one I got

surround sound. I recorded a sound video.

Nice pickup--I also have a TEA4TWO modded Famicom.  They are so expensive!

Look on the side, it should have the decals for the mods that were performed on it.

fredJ

Mine doesn't have those, and also not the front label.
I think this was an earlier version. (2007) Maybe they didn't put on the decals yet.

My colleague has "disappeared" for a while so I can't check with him ATM.

There is a long story to me buying this that goes with a huge month long run on Evangelion pachinko, but I'll spare you for now :)

Mine was actually bought about 10 years ago.

I can't remember the exact amount  paid, but if you look at their website now they recently started selling premodded Famicoms again after years of not doing  them I believe.  it costs over 49,000 yen (approx $490) to get them now and are only available in Japan.  I believe mine is in line with the current price, although it might have been 10,000 yen or so cheaper.

I got every option aside from the rapid fire controller mod.  This is the model I purchased (http://www.tea4two.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=242)

Extras I added include:

Console Whitening (they use used,  unboxed Famicoms for their premodded units and as an option you can have them use their whitening process on the shell)
Controller Cable Extensions  (hard wired, extending the paltry stock length to a reasonable distance (2 meters??)
New rubber feet on the bottom as the Famicom's plastic bottom has a tendency to bow with age
Small form power supply (about  a third of the size of the regular brick)

I'll try to search my email for the receipt.

EDIT: So I found my receipt.  I actually only paid around 30,000 Yen for this.  Inflation is crazy!  They sell the mod kits to be installed by the user and those alone are over 20,000 yen now--without a Famicom and without installation. (also none of the extras)

fredJ

I wonder if the front label is an extra option too.
Because I am pretty sure my console has a normal label.

Maybe my console doesn't have lots of extras to it?
It could have just been a standard AV modd: http://www.tea4two.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=1240

I'm not sure which model yours is, but I will inspect their site later to see if certain models have the TEA4TWO label and some don't.

I do believe customers can bring in or send in their own Famicom and have mods done by the company.  Maybe they don't replace the label under this circumstance.

The link you sent to is the "simple AV mod", this doesn't have most of the upgrades as far as picture quality  It simply gives an avenue for composite out on a white/red/gold Famicom.

EDIT:

On further inspection it seems that if you buy a premodded Famicom from them, even with the basic AV Mod, it does come with the front and side logos (1 decal on side).  So either the person sent in their own Famicom with a request to not add the logos, or they replaced them after the fact.

That's so nicely souped up.  I like it.

 :o WHAT? $490?

You could pay for an Analogue NT with that kind of money. Wouldn't it be better to put a NESRGB in a Famicom?

NintendoKing

Honestly at that price I am happier with my official AV Famicom. If I want a classic Famicom feel ill use reshelled NES controllers and my Hudson EXT controller. :)
