Shipping from Japan

First off let me preface this by saying, I have absolutely no issue with the person I've been buying from, I trust him completely and this isn't a slight on anyone's reputation by any means, it's just a general question lately :)

How long has it been taking people here in the states getting packages from Japan as of late? I remember buying a couple years ago and regular method, I'd get it in about....3 weeks at most.

But over the past year it seems, shipping has gotten slower. Like the first package I'm waiting on was shipped on the 3rd of this month and the last status update from JP Post was on the 6th, since then, nothing.

Just curious as to typical timeframe now-a-days (as I have three more packages, for a total of 4, that are on their way as well).

Thanks!  :redcart:

I usually say 2-4 weeks for a non-insured small packet.. but looks like you have a tracking #  so registered?  (depends on what method you chose)  Post office in Japan can do a trace so i guess if concerned after some time ask your seller to call them up and see if they can find it.   Also can use the tracking # at japan post page & the USA post.. one of the two can have different updates.

cheers.

When I buy a bunch of stuff from Japan, I pay as much as $250 for EMS shipping. Only takes 4-5 days with insurance.

Usually for me (and I live in a major city) it goes like this;

EMS: 3~7 days
Airmail: 7~14 days
SAL: 18~30 days

I usually avoid SAL unless it's unavoidable, it's a small item, or I am being cheap and can wait.
Here are a few games I am looking for right now
Super Puzzle Fighter II X (Sega Saturn)
GeGeGe no Kotarou (Sega Saturn)
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Sega Saturn)
KiKi KaiKai (PC Engine) (CIB)
Puzzle Bobble (Super Famicom) (CIB)

yeah, I've learnt my lession on big purchases...gonna spring for airmail or EMS next time, but for eBay purchases (which one of my packages is) they try to rape you on shipping charges, where as on here, people basically do it for exact (or round up to the next dollar, which isn't nothing)...

Don't forget about 5% loss on exchange currency, which is $1 for every $20 shipping cost. Also weight of the package - the more bubble wrap(which is not free either) you want, the more you have to pay for it.

For everyone, who complaining about shipping charges i HIGHLY recommend to start selling INTERNATIONALLY.
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

I remember when I got those controllers from ya 80\s a few years back that I got them in 3 weeks lol...

I'm sure it's a combination of things, I just gotta make sure I'm not stingy on shipping for bigger purchases from the mother land here on out :-)

Thx everyone

3 weeks not that long. My personal record is 70 days, but surface shipping  ;D

2-3 weeks is the norm for me. Some things took a month to get here, though.

As for me, I really can't say a single harsh word >> sometimes shippings from Japan arrives faster then domestic ones, which is insane, but few weeks ago the new record has been set for registered airmail shipping = 3 working days (5 with the weekend) from Japan to Poland :o

Sal to FRance takes around 2-3 weeks

And and some parcels in Surface that took less than a month where some others took 3
Record for Surface beeing 10 days .
I guess they made a mistake when they shipped it .
