Game Gear Rechargable Battery Pack

It been so long, I played the Game Gear

Does the light go off whe it finish charging, Is it 8 hours to charge it

How can I tell if the Ni-Cd is dying, Can it still charge with the light on if the battery is dead

I saw someone replace the Battery Pack with Ni-MH 7.2 Cells, I might try it,..But will it last in the long run

How much for a LCD Mod to make it last really long? Will the Battery Pack last longer with the LCD Mod?

Are you attempting to use a vintage rechargeable pack? I would not bother, those internal cells are long gone.
and yes that thing will attempt to charge even when the cells are dead.  That is not safe.

I've installed several of the LED kits for the Game Gear.  that in conjunction with new Caps can improve the unit 10fold.

When I tested with LED installed it lasted for several full days of gaming. Which is amazing with the game gear
