hi,
i just came across this weird adapter,
and i hope anyone here can tell me more about it
and what is does.
it looks weird enough for me to add it to my collection,
but if anyone knows more about it that would be great.
any hints are more than welcome,
thanks in advance.

Does that say Super Famicom to Super NES adapter? Is it just some kind of passthrough that'll allow you to play Japanese games on a Western console?

That's what it looks like to me. Weird how there's a ribbon cable though.

Yeah, I don't see what the ribbon cable is for.  Plus it looks like it would obstruct the left hand cart from even being put in the the console, although that could just be the photo.

Opening the cartridge and posting pictures of the innards might help.

that is just it, i am considering buying it,
but i'd like to know more about it before i do.
my best guess sofar is that the right half plugs into the SFC/SNES,
and the left half is where you plug your cart in.
and that the ribbon connects the two as a cheap substitute for an (expensive?) pcb.
but, that is just a guess founded in nothing.

It's interesting for sure, just looks a bit fishy to me.  Normally with those type of adapters you just plug the cart in the top, then the adapter goes straight in to the console.  That seems to be 2 adapters with a random ribbon cable added, but who knows!
