Ordered a Famicom and I wanna verify something.

I'm located in Finland so I have 230V EU outlets.

The Famicom I bought will come with this power cord:

(I/P: AC100-240V 50/60Hz 0.3A, O/P: DC 9V 1.3A)

Will I need a step down converter or will an adapter be enough?

Pikkon

That's a switching psu so it will work anywhere in the world,no step down converter needed.

As for the psu you have it needs to be center negative and outer positive,I would check with a multimeter first.

I got a converter that will allow you to power the famicom for EU plugs.

Something similar to this:

Or perhaps I could get a Mega Drive model 1 PSU, which apparently work with the Famicom. Can you actually just plug one in and it works? No extra equipment needed?

Something like this one?

xIceMan

Theoretically, yes. Never tried it though.

FamiBar

Would anyone happen to have first hand experience?

Pikkon

A mega drive model 1 ac adapter will work just fine on a famicom.

FamiBar

I think I'll settle with a MD AC then, thank you.
