There has been news about a new Mega drive console from Tec Toy, looking exactly like the first model called "Limited edition". Anyone know more about hardware? Should have inbuilt games and SD slot.

Great Hierophant

If it is made for Brazil and only outputs composite, then it should be PAL-M.

Tectoy says it will be a System-on-a-chip Mega Drive. After this announcement majority of people started to believe this new console will be another bad joke (like their recent Mega Drive 4 and so many other bad consoles).

According to new rumours, Tectoy will finish a prototype quickly to show how it works to Brazilian consumers. They want to change their image and be respected again (like they were 25-30 years ago).

Yes, the FAQ says it will be a PAL-M console.
Very dumb decision considering that we have trinorma (Pal/Pal-M/Ntsc) televisions since the 1990s.

It looks interesting - but $120 is seriously steep no?

For a console that is only composite it is too much and looking by the pictures the plastic looks cheaply made ( i think it will brake in my hands just by holding it  ;D )
I am back everyone :)

It's an abusive price for sure (like the values charged for almost anything on sale in Brazil).
And this is the pre-order price. Next year it will be available for 140 USD.

P

For that price you could eassily import Japanese Mega Drives to Brazil (with the ridicilous shipping fees accounted for) and get RGB.

That was my thought - you wouldn't get the included games, but for that price I would say an imported model 1 JP original is much preferred...
