Well not quite, as only the NES version appears to be right now - but it should be possible on the Fami Mini too...

All you need is USB connection with PC.
Emulator supports mappers: 0 (NROM), 1 (MMC1), 2 (UxROM), 3 (CNROM), 4 (MMC3), 5 (MMC5), 7 (AxROM), 9 (MMC2), 10 (MMC4).

DISCLAIMER:  If you try this, do so at your own risk.  Personally, I will wait a bit just in case something pops up, and until more mappers are supported.

geez

russian interface. with a lot of mistakes/typos.  :-X seriously?

at the very least it looks suspicious.

Seems to be fine from the threads, but some notable caution.

Another reason I'll wait I think, but I'll start prepping a list of what to add.

With no auto download firmware updates etc. to worry about though, it's welcome.

Yeah but also any mapper updates must be hacked in there. I guess the mappers supported match the games included in Famicom/NES Mini.

Yes I imagine the mapper list would stay as-is, but I know the community are focused on expanding that as the next step, so who knows.

I think the only things I'd want to do are;

1)Replace Punch Out with Mike Tyson's Punch Out.

and

2)Put all the missing exclusives on each console.

Ah, I think I'll just keep mine virgin and untouched for now.

sorry, don't get me wrong. I'm a bit of malware-fobic. Really don't want to become a part of a massive bot-net of any kind. I'd never trust the application from unknown source. The same thing applies to closed source apps.  Meanwhile, I may be overreacting for no reason at all ;D

No offtopic from me anymore. Ok, back to the subject of the thread.

No that was very much on topic of course.  Just meant that apparently they were false flags and some edits were made (plus the source posted) that allayed fears.

I will wait a bit, but I'm not so worried as I already have a device with many other issues that I will wipe soon and can use that for this just in case.

I'm only going to put some games on there I think showcase the NES better, like Little Samson, Shatterhand, Castlevania 3 etc.

Storage wise, the NES Mini has enough storage already to fit the entire library on there apparently, at 512 MB or so.

Has anyone tried putting more FDS games on it? Is the disk flipping still automatic?

L___E___T

I did see a few updates but nothing along those lines.  i'd be surprised if manual disk flipping went in, but who knows!

I only put one fds game on mine and for switching disk I had to press the A button.

Ah thanks for the update, so it's either been updated or was always manual (I haven't added anything got mine yet to test).

They've added the ability to play Codenmasters games now - which I like as I wanted to add Cosmic Spacehead, Micro Machines and Dizzy for nostalgia.

Shame no VRC6 or Sunsoft mappers yet, but I think that's actually quite a big feature to add.  FDS games are in I imagine from the Famicom Mini library.

I still haven't added anything yet, mainly because I want to build a definitive list and do it all in one go, plus I want nice clean boxart, not google search...

Yeah VRC6 is almost as complex as MMC5 I think.
As for adding FDS games, they would probably have to be modified for disk changing. Unless the emulator somehow knows when the game is waiting for a disk change and enables the A button for that during that time only.

I bet it was always manual. Zelda wouldn't work correctly with automatic disk changing as the title menu waits for a disk side change.

Quick update - they figured out how to get RetroArch running so in theory all SNES / MegaDrive / Gameboy games etc will now work.  Limited memory means it's no RetroPi though.
