For those of you who belong to Club Nintendo in Japan, I have a code from the new DS game: Game Caenter CX - Arino no Chōsenjō (ゲームセンターCX 有野の挑戦状). I was such a big fan of the show that I HAD to get the game too... and I am NOT disappointed.

Anyways, I have a code I cannot use (I don't live in Japan) so PM me if you would like it.

PM sent.
I'd like to have that code.
If somebody has other codes and no use for them, I would be pleased to get them.  :)
Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much.
I have now 195 "rank points". If you accumulate over 400 rank points in a year (Oct-Sep) you get that special "platinum member" present.

This year's present is a Super Famicom controller you can use with the Wii's VC. So cool.

I need to pay someone to join the club in my name so I can get these cool things! I buy so many imported Nintendo games... (sigh)  :-\

But I'm glad that SOMEONE in this community can use them.  :P

I actually have an imported version of warioware touched for DS if anyone wants that club nintendo number. First PM gets it!

Also, I was thinking about picking up that Game Center CX game for DS but I don't understand Japanese, is it still playable even though I won't be able to read the text?

My guess would be that you could give it a try. You just need to find out about menus and how to save. The mini games themselves shouldn't require too much Japanese, except maybe for that RPG part. I don't know. Better wait what JewWario can tell you.

Well, it's a fun game. It has some tricks to it, but the Japanese isn't too extensive. If anyone's interested I will post a translation of the main menu... but it's pretty easy to comprehend.

The game is a lot of fun. Basically you play a kid who is playing classic video games on the bottom screen while the top screen is the "classic" game. But these "classics" are brand new games made by Namco/Bandai for this game specifically... although they are similar to actual games (the first game is very similar to Galaga). But I LOVE the retro Famicom feel to each game (although they don't SAY it's a Famicom...  the image at the bottom screen when the boys play it has the same colours and it looks VERY much like one) :D

But Arino will make a challenge to you, and to move forward in the game you have to clear the challenge. These get more difficult as you progress. So, for the first game you need to clear stage 5. Simple. But they get more difficult.

Along the way you can get magazines that give you clues and tricks (like they do). And your buddy lays down on his side and shouts encouragements to you (in Japanese).

So it has a bit of reading to do, and unless someone does an FAQ (http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=65487&st=15 ... Thanks UglyJoe) I might get it just for fun. Playing the games is a blast. But the reading (I am predicting) will get to be more than the non-Japanese readers might be able to take.

So my suggestion would be:

If you are a fan of the show... get it. Period! (It comes with the business card Arino was presented by the President of Namco/Bandai. GLEE!~)

If you are not a fan, this might puzzle you at first... but with that FAQ UglyJoe found, you will find it MUCH easier and (since this is a famicom fan site) you will appreciate the games. Enjoy.

Might I also suggest watching the episodes of GameCenter CX you can find. Even if you don't understand Japanese you will discover MANY games that are "lost treasures".

I wish I was a member of it. What do I need to join? I can join if I live in the US?

You have to have a valid address in Japan. And you must understand enough Japanese to go through the registering (registering on the page, registering games and peripherals) processes. That's all.
And you need to buy quite a lot games and stuff to get the really cool gimmicks.

If you accumulate over 400 points in one year - from October 1 to September 30 of next year - you'll become a platinum member and get a great present. These points are called "rank points" and they are reset after the year is over.
See here:
http://club.nintendo.jp/rank2007/index.html
This year platinum members can chose between a Super Famicom controller for the Virtual Console, a calender set and a special edition Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack set.
Needless to say, I chose the Super Famicom controller.

The points are still in your balance, though, and you can use them to buy stuff off the catalogue.

The Club exclusive DS games for example cost 500 points.

You can't register points from games that are older than 2 years. All points expire 2 years after the release. When you registered them, they are also valid for 2 years. If you don't use them to buy something from the catalogue, they'll expire.

You see, it's maybe harder than you think to get all the cool stuff from the Club Nintendo.
But most stuff is worth the effort. There always are some nice goodies up for a grab.

I also just started the Game Center CX: Arino's Challenge Wikipedia info page. I'll add to it as I get time to.
