You are a most valued member of this community kind sir Jackson.  Are you still leading the NA challenge for the year?

I really hope we can organise something similar per month on FamicomWorld.com for example, score challenge on Mario Bros, or just a simple 'finish SMB3' this month.  Like longer Game Center CX challenges I guess.

I might start a proper, official FW thread, but as someone who partakes in these challenges, what are your thoughts??

You are the truly kind one here, Sir LET-celot. I've been spending a bigger chunk of my free time playing NES games for the NA challenge. And yeah, I'm dominating in the individual statistics. But I haven't won anything yet, and there's still dozens of interesting games left on the list, so my work is still cut out for me.

As for whether FW needs a similar gaming challenge, I'm not sure.

I don't know how successful a "Beat Every Famicom" thread would be here. The Famicom library is twice the size of the NES one (in licensed terms alone, and the unlicensed gap is much wider too). This forum also has a fraction of the number of serious gamers that a large forum like NA has. Also, I think there'd be especially low interest in the hordes of mediocre adventure, baseball, mahjong, and other games with language barrier issues.

I know NA also has high-score contest threads on one game a week. Something like that might be easier to do here, but I've never participated in one of those. I'm much more interested in seeing endings than maxing out my score meter.

Also FW being a smaller comunity than NA, and there's many more time consuming games for Famicom than for NES (RPGs and Adventure games).

We would have to limit the challenges to much less games, for example all pulse line games within a week, or a certain number of games in different genres in a certain period of time. For example: 10 Platform games, 10 shooting, 10 fighting, 5 puzzle, 5 sport, 3 light gun shooting, 1 adventure, 1 RPG, 1 simulation and 1 table game (doesn't need to be mahjong haha).

Nowadays I seldom finishes an RPG the same year I start it though.

Actually I was talking about relatively quick fire challenges, rather than an all-titles completion challenge.

For example, if you did it bi-weekly or even monthly, one could be 'Get to Rank 5 or above in Balloon Fight Game C', another could be 'Finish Stage 3-3 of Kirby in under 2 mins' - that kind of thing.

Would just be a fun nudge to play more games in some different ways, with discussion around it, maybe some are easy, some are hard, some are quicker and other are longer burners - just a bit of fun.

Maybe the first person so complete the challenge could make a vote on the next challenge via the poll system - similar to how PixelJoint.com run their challenges.  There's a first, second and 3rd place and the winner declares the next challenge over there.

Welp, it happened - ran up 5K posts in the years since I joined.  Very pleasant to be a part of this community I must say, there's a reason I come back everyday.

So, now I'm a Disk-Kun, not sure what to make of that  :D
