I was in upstate New York when it hit, I couldn't get home(to New Jersey) for about two days because of flooding. My house in NJ was spared though. A tree did come down about a foot from my car though.

This article from a local paper has pretty stunning images of a beach one town away from me.

Well, I got lucky. No major damage was done around me and luckily my power didn't go out (unlike most of the people here in Lindenhurst) BUT the mosquitoes are nasty. I don't know if they came over from Fire Island or something but when I went outside, I must have had four of them biting me at once.

I lost power for 5 days and had my basment flooded. Lukliy, I saved my Peugnin power Games,Which I use to play famicom Games on.

No, Parodius.  You already mentioned that your basement was flooded.

Ouch, that really stinks. Was there any other major problems?

UglyJoe

It's not Irene, but we got nailed with a huge storm today.  I actually can't get back to my apartment because all of the roads into town are flooded :'(

I'm at a hotel for the night, not too far away.  Here's a picture of a Pizza Hut up to its roof in water: http://twitpic.com/6hicxu

Hope everything is ok UglyJoe... and i hope all your famicom/nes etc stuff are ok.
I am back everyone :)

UglyJoe

Yeah, my stuff is okay.  The area of town where my apartment resides is actually in pretty good shape.  It also helps that I'm on the second floor.  I managed to get back to my apartment this morning, happily reunited with my fiance :bub:

DAMN i heard that now there is a Massive Power Outage...  on the news they said that 1.5 million people are affected by the outage i hope that none of our US members are without electricity.
I am back everyone :)

Everything is just starting to get back to normal, Power/Internet is coming on and off and the only working post office on the CT shoreline is 15 miles away. Anyway,  heres a few pics for your enjoyment.

My Cousin, at the exact second the flood rushes in....
