Picked up a Wanpaku Kokkun(Panic Restaurant) cartridge  ;D

And some recent local finds:

The top games are all PC games. One is from SoftStar, a prominent PC software company back in the day.  While not a PC gamer at all, the fact that this one had its original box made it worth picking up, imo.  This is how hoarding starts, folks ;)  Also are a game from AV Artisian (they had done original unlicensed games back in the day) and a porno mahjong game.

Next up is a Russian Simba's Junior.  Sadly the clone inside is generic.  No idea how this ended up in Taiwan, I guess maybe just extra stock that the Chinese factory had, which was never sent to Russia.  Some unused pirate cart labels and a few bootleg Famicom carts.

Finally, an Asder educational children's PC thingie.  Oh how the mighty have fallen, to have produced Huang Di and then something like this, ugh.  I need to get some batteries to test this out, but I'll likely be taking this in to school for my children to play with.

And a City Boy II joystick from Honest.  This seems to have been quite popular back in the day, as it was advertised a lot.  Is compatible with Famicom, Super Famicom, Sega Mega Drive, maybe even PC.  First time I ever found one though, and it is in nice condition overall, despite being slightly overpriced imo.

Look! I got it!

Very, very nice. I've always wanted one of those models.

I opted for the "salmon" colored AN505RD with turbo controllers and have used it for a long time, but I think the colors on this model are a lot better than pink/red/salmon/whatever.

And some more items, picked up yesterday.

The Ken Kid Super Famicom clone is brand new, despite the box being a little dirty  The Mario 2 cart is used, the Super 98 Lion King for Famicom is also brand new.

Although these two are mine for the collection, I know where I can get another (brand new) Ken Kid Super Famicom machine, as well as a few more of the Super 98 Lion King Famicom cartridges, if anyone here wants them.  Just pm me and make an offer.

Does it take Super Famicom controllers?  Looks interesting, how is the build quality?  And congrats on the finds!

Yeah it can use standard Super Famicom controllers.  Regarding build quality, it is nice, from what I can see.  Ken Kid was one of the competitors to the Micro Genius brand back in the early 1990s:  i.e. high quality products, just slightly less than the licensed / original products.  This isn't some modern shitty clone, if that's what you mean ;)

That answers my question perfectly, thank you!  How's the video quality?

I'd be tempted to get one but have RGB setups for all my consoles now.

I still like AV composite, but wondered all the same.

Just picked these up on Saturday:

About half of the stuff I'm keeping for my own collection, the rest goes up for sale / trade.  Not a bad find locally, from a contact of mine that decided to get out of the game.

Thanks! I actually really like the colors on the AN505RD as well, but I decided I am tired of dealing with yellowing systems so now I am trying to get all my consoles in black to avoid the problem. :) Do you have any pics of your AN505RD?

Here's a really nice find of mine, just picked this up recently:

Official Taiwan version Game Boy Color.  A year or two ago, I had the box for one of these (it might have had the manual too, I forget), but it was the green version, and there was no GBC with it, just the box.  But I had sold it due to needing money at the time.  I forget what it was for, either to fund another purchase or to take a trip, whatever.  I never really regretted that sale, as it was just a box, but at the same time I had always wanted to add one of these back into my collection.

I went to great pains to get this one, hahaha.  There is a huge story to tell, but that is only shared with my closest friends.  Anyway, the GBC works, it is complete, numbers match between the machine and the manual  :)  All is original, came from the original owner.

Interestingly enough, I know of somewhere else that has one of these (different model though) and I think I have a 50:50 of being able to snag it.  Will investigate further, maybe even tomorrow, as I would love it to my collection as well.  Actually I'd love to collect all the Taiwan version GBCs, but that is a pipe dream of sorts, I think, given the rarity.
