You can PM someone directly from a post by clicking the
under their avatar. If you want to quote something, you can always click the
button first and copy that, and then click the PM button, and then paste your quote into your message. Easier done than said.

thanks, I learnt something today.
still I think it would be better if the green button had as message subject the thread subject (in this case "Re: PM from thread") , and that the message already contained the quote from the post. It would be easier to remove it then to add it, but I think in most cases you wouldn't want to remove it.
Take for example a sales thread, etc.
