Last game you played?

I got some NES repros in the mail a few days ago, after spending about a year hunting down donor carts on the cheap for trade-in. I just played a bit of Titan Warriors. It's very hard, but also well done. I'm not sure why Capcom cancelled this.

I'm currently playing Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. The "New" (Easy) mode only makes it slightly less frustrating.

I started my day today with some Titan Warriors (NES), which I recently picked up on a reproduction cart. It's a really solid game, and I'm not sure why it didn't get published. I was actually able to reach the second stage for the first time today... it's a very tough one.

My younger brother was in town, so we had our traditional video game reunion. This year, it was a Genesis marathon. We played some T2: The Arcade Game, only to get stuck on the truck-protecting stage that I've never beaten. I edged him in a game of Tecmo Super Bowl III on a Hail Mary. And we beat a co-op round of General Chaos. Good times.

Played Gun.Smoke for first time. Just got it in the mail.

Cool game, but can't see how it's better than Lone Ranger. I really love the style of early Capcom NES music.

GunSmoke is awesome, especially as you get into the later levels

fun fact - Red Dead Redemption is the latest in the franchise, I forget the details of how the IP went over to Rockstar.

I played Yoshis Island. Or should I say ヨッシーアイランド because I managed to get my SFC to run properly on my PAL TV.

I got a long awaited shipment of repros in the mail today, and I had my first tastes of Final Fantasy V and Mega Man & Bass (both SNES). Loved them both at first sight.

Played Astro Warrior for the Master System for the first time in probably two decades.  As much as it is an absolutely shameless rip-off of Star Force, it's also freaking GREAT!

I just played several hours of Jurassic Park (NES), and got all the way to the final boss but got chomped by the T-Rex. I had continues, but you respawn right at the fight, and the bastard is too cheap and tough to be beaten with the pea-shooter ammo they provide you in its pen. I'm a little bitter about it right now.

[Retrospectives]

I played Arugosu no Senshi yesterday night, but i fell asleep. This is one of the classic games that i used to play as a kid, but it's way too long in one sitting and it doesn't have the password or any other save feature so if you will play it, be ready to sit there for a while.

I tried a bit of Kung-Fu Heroes (NES) tonight. It'll never be a favorite, but I'm trying to see if I can beat it for the Nintendo Age challenge. It's definitely giving me a craving to play some Little Ninja Brothers, though.

I had a bit of a Wario's Woods (NES) marathon today. I played all the way from stage 1-85 in one sitting, and got from 85-90 a few hours later. I'm on my way to beating it for the third straight year for the Nintendo Age competition. It's a demanding, but fun, game.

Just 100% beat Ocarina of Time 3D Master Quest. Now I'm playing Majora's Mask 3D.
