Hiya!

I want to make a Moon Crystal translation cart and I see it is a TSROM game.
I only have TKROM donors atm , so if I remove the battery will the game work fine? I have seen threads of how to make a TSROM->TKSROM by just adding the battery parts, so I am pretty sure it will work but never hurts to get confirmation!
thanks!  ;D

you can keep the battery. Battery didn't affect the game. Battery only used to powering up SRAM chip (WRAM) in deep sleep mode if the power is off.

Reviewing how to make moon crystal and Ys III (TKSROM)

Moon Crystal is a TLROM board while Ys III is a TKROM with the following modified.

To make a TKROM into TKSROM you just need to rewire CIRAM A10.
Cut the CIRAM A10 wire that connects the mmc3 pin 10 to nes connector pin 22.
Then solder a wire from nes connector pin 22 to mmc3 pin 12 (chr a17).
You may have to cut the chr a17 trace that goes to the chr rom,
but it should be unused on the 128KB chip anyways.
