How hard is the gaiden series to play if you don't know Japanese fluently, but know some Japanese?

is there a guide on the internet?

Unfortunately there are no English walkthroughs for the Gaiden game but I did manage to beat Gaiden 2  with some trail and error. They are like most NES RPGs gameplay wise. Town > dungeon > town > dungeon....
