133MHz

That's right, our beloved Chinese pirates have cloned the Game Boy Advance SP!

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25219

Bears an uncanny resemblance to the real thing, but comes with 92 built-in games, and apparently doesn't work with GB/GBC carts and also runs 15% slower.

It even says Gameboy Advance on the box?!

133MHz

And on the system itself too! The only missing word is the magic one: 任天堂 :P.

There's this thing called Google, you should try it sometime.

It says Nintendo.  It's a GBA, just not Nintendo's GBA :P

EDIT*** This isn't related to this clone, but here's this one on ThinkGeek that plays ROMs.  It sort of resembles a GB Micro, and it plays NES, SNES, Neo Geo, Genesis, and GBA ROMs, and probably GB/GBC ROMs, too..and probably pretty much anything that only requires 4 buttons and a D-pad.  Ask yourself one question before buying this, though...is it worth $100?

1. Using a Wii, so I can't copypasta and translate.

2. Is that the Dingoo?  It looks like a Dingoo to me.

Well, it has four gigs of storage, plus an SD slot, a seven hour battery life, it plays mp3's, it has an A/V output.. If the emulator software runs full speed, then heck yes it is!
Thanks for pointing that out, I might buy one.

Edit: I just read a review of the thing.. I knew it was too good to be true. >:(

You're welcome, Byron.  BP was right, it also goes under the name Dingoo A-320, so if you search that on Youtube, you be able to see videos of it playing various games and videos.

Here's one:

Score one for me!  I believe you can also run homebrew on a Dingoo, as GP32X now has a Dingoo section.

Here's the review.

What I got from it was that the emulator software can't run better than "clunky" without frame skipping, and the A/V out, the feature I was most interested in, looks grainy at best.
Not worth a hundred dollars. Maybe thirty.

Actually, as far as I know, the only ones that have problems are SNES and Neo-Geo emulators.  There is also a big cult following to this system (believe it or not) so downloads/patches will be obtainable.  As far as the A/V out goes, I would wait to make a final decision until I see pictures.  Everyone has different expectations.  I don't think it's worth as much as $100, but I think it's worth more than $30.

You make a valid point. I should have said it's only worth thirty dollars to me.

You might as well spring for a PSP - doesn't it do most of those things?

GP2X is nice, and supposedly the Wiz and Pandora are cool, too.
