Title: First Post... Here's My Setup
Post by: B33bs on November 20, 2013, 04:14:17 am
Hey people. Really happy to find this Forum.

My parents bought me a Famicom when I was 10 (that's 21 years ago). The other day I was cleaning up my place and found my famicom, so I decided to boot it up...

Here's my setup

I lost the power adaptor at the time but I got this on to replace it and it works fine.

It's been about 14 years since I last played with it. Yesterday I set it all up (oh the simplicity!!) and had 2problems

First of all there may be a problem with the antenna cable/or the famicom RF plug as the image quality is pretty bad.

The cartridge ejector is also pretty hard to move.

Finally, the worst part is that most games wont load. I only see a dark yellow screen or an orange screen. All of my games worked fine the last time I played them (15 years ago give or take). I've already dusted the cartridges and the console. Does anybody have an idea of what might be happening?

Thank you and game on!

Nice setup. The games might just need to be cleaned. I use rubbing alcohol with a toothbrush and q-tips.

Thank you for your response.

I'll try the rubbing alcohol suggestion.

Any ideas on what may be happening concerning the image quality?
