Title: Quick How to Use Original Wii Without Sensor Bar / Wiimote
Post by: FamicomRetroGamer on January 05, 2014, 12:51:33 pm
Simply press ON + RESET once you've reached the Safe Mode you'll be able to set the Wii to go automatically to the Homebrew Channel which means you'll no longer be required to use the sensor bar with its Wiimote any more.

Of course this requires to have the Wii softmodded but considering it makes it a whole lot better to me it's another advantage, along with the Region Free feature.

I'm glad that with Wii U Nintendo decided to go back to controller-type rather than Wiimote (I know Mario & Sonic Olympic 2014 is one of these but it's an exception), because I don't really like it at all.

Apparently on Miiverse you can (I did) get a two week ban for mentioning the Homebrew Channel (AKA 'Criminal Activity'. Fascists.). Modding and/or hacking a Wii U in Wii U mode is against the Terms of Service and can get your console bricked. Fascists, their censorship and their 'anti-piracy' methods are stupid.

I think I mentioned once or twice about how to make a Wii region free (hacking involved) and this was fine so I guess it's a matter of luck.

You can put Linux on your Wii and Wii U (I think.(in Wii mode)) as well. Softmodding, hacking, and homebrew have made these consoles a whole lot better.
And yes, it might just be luck about which post gets removed, but mine was removed unrightfully. Mentioning The Homebrew channel is NOT criminal activity. Encouraging people to play and/or make pireated game on the HBC is criminal activity.

Even if it's no criminal it's probably still against the rules of Miiverse. Nintendo doesn't like it.

Once something is in your possession, and the warranty has expired... do whatever you want with a console.
