Title: "Memorial * Series: Sunsoft Vol. 6" Gimmick question
Post by: Alls Wills on January 06, 2014, 07:54:03 pm
So I found out this exists and is on the Japanese PSN, and I'm thinking about buying an overpriced(What's with the nearly 50% markup!?) 1000 yen code so I can download this; I would just like to know one thing before I do.

Does anyone know how accurate this port of Gimmick is?

I heard it was accurate - but more importantly the game is still expensive if you can ever find it physically.  So that should help you gauge whether you want it or not.

Yeah I actually wanted a cart of the game, but the cheapest I've seen one has been for about $200. When I found out about this version however, I decided that as long as it is mostly accurate I would settle for it.

Vol. 4 (Meta Fight) and 5 (Hebereke/Raf World) had bad sound issues. I'm not sure if the other volumes had the same problem. What I mean by sound problem is that the bass seems to drown out the entire songs. Of course, it could of just been my A/V cords or TV at the time.

Well, I found this article which confirms the sound issues you mentioned:

It kind of sucks that the game features such sound issues, but at least all other areas of the port appears to be good. I'm going to have to take some time to think about it, but I will most likely end up getting it.
