Title: Famicom in a cartridge
Post by: Pit on January 19, 2014, 09:43:38 am
This weekend it's time for some fun.

I have a naked neofami clone since I took some parts of it to finish the famicom slot on my Nes. I have also a Famicom Game shell of a game I killed trying to make a cartmod.

So I decided to use both parts to make a "famicom in a cartridge".

Beggining of cutting and study  of what can be put inside the shell :

Only the mother board with cartridge slot fits in the shell, for audio, video, power and controls, I had to desolder all connectors. Controls use db9 connectors, I took new ones.

Wiring, cutting job, all is in place :

Victoly !

Then I shut the shell and made a label :

I love it!  I wish I had an NTSC clone like that.  The NTSC clones  have I don't like the colours, the PAL clones I have are 50hz :(

And I thought putting a famiclone inside an NES cartridge was good work...this is beautiful! Who wants to try to fit an Atari 2600 inside an Atari 2600 game shell? :D

Regards.

It could be done maybe with the Atari Flashback 2, just add the cartridge connector. Tac-switches would be all over the cartridge though

Wow...wait a minute...can a cartridge connector be added to an atari flashback to have a full Atari 2600? :o

Yes and you can buy the parts for $12, it's apparently the best Atari 2600 because it's AV native and uses true 2600 components.

Guides are all over AtariAGE and it's a super popular mod.
Only the Atari Flashback 2 has the ability, AF 1 was a famiclone (it serious is), and AF 3 & 4 only emulate.
