I was actually going to suggest we use this thread to talk about the best classic games - early arcade ports, launch titles, anything that basically didn't push the system much but holds up to the quality of later releases.

For me, Galaga and Galaxian are two of that type.  Very simple but enjoyable games.  Mario Bros (classic) is another.

But, we could just talk about gaming classics in general, like L___E___T said.
Idk too much about classic gaming but I know some.

I love Yie Ar Kung Fu too, the sound effects are awesome!

Spartan X is another favorite, I remember when I was about 8 years old watching the big kids play an arcade cabinet that the AYA I used to hang out at after school had.  I never wanted to play a game more.

1942 and 1943 are pretty cool classics that would get my votes too.

The Famicom port of Dig Dug is pretty awesome.

As for Yie Ar Kung Fu, I've always found that one to be terrible. (Admittedly, I've only played it on pirate multicarts... are they butchering it or something?)

Not sure about how it is on pirate carts, but I can see how it might be a bit of an aquired taste!  Once you`ve aquired it though it is quite fun.
