Title: WTB: GameGear
Post by: MaxXimus on February 22, 2014, 10:34:45 pm
I am looking for a GameGear with both battery covers in full working condition. I am not too concerned about scratches and scuffs.  It would be cool if it came with games but not necessary.  I would also like to have the AC for it, but again, not nescessary.

Why not replace the capacitors in them and sell them?

If you have a gamegear that picture works fine on, but the sound is oit, I would considder that as well for the right price.

I'm looking for a Game Gear now too...in Japan it's kinda hard to find a cheap, working one though.  There are so many broken ones for sale compared with Game Boy which seems, for the most part,  to just keep on going (anyone seen and remember that Iraq War survivor?!!)

That war surivor GB was amazing to see, the story behind it is just so evident as well, which is so charming.

So what's the going rate for a working GG?  I have a couple here and can also get fresh ones with the caps replaced for a chunk more.

i check them yesterday and sure enough, all have the capacitor problem.i was going to buy the replacement capacitor to fix, but it is like $12, and on top of shipping to canada which is around $17.00 now , it would be close to $ 30 just for parts and shipping, not to mention cost of unit. but if you want i can send you one theat needs new capacitors for cheap  it is missing battery covers and is used conditions.
