Leon! You don't own a Famicom?! I'm actually shocked! Let me check with a friend of mine, I might be able to find you one. (BTW this is Andy P. from WI, US. The Virus guy)

Thanks buddy! For a guy that has a complete CDN nes collection (about 770 games and a dozen nes systems boxed) I'm shocked as well. ;)

I have some available in my ebay shop, however they are AV modded. Fortunately, nothing on the system's plastic casing has been cut and everything looks in good condition, nearly white. Check the pictures in my listings for details.

Thanks for the offer.  I was hoping to spend closer the guide prices in this forum and modify the system (with NESRGB) myself.

You should be able to find one on here for about 30 to 40 shipped I would think,if you get one that's a bit yellowed I would just retr0bright it.

Id say an original clean and white famicom would be rarer then Gimmick! these days but with some tlc ive seen people make them look brand new.
Me myself i dont mind the yellowing it adds character :)

Here's one for a decent price.

I bet a good cleaning would bring it back to life.

Leon, the NESRGB kit doesn't fit inside an original Famicom :( There is a clearance issue, as well as the reset slider. I recommend the Twin Fami for that mod, and a fixer-upper Twin shows up at decent prices on eBay all the time.

It doesn't install easily, but it does install and work with custom wires.  :)

I've seen some good examples of it working in famicom (non-AV)

I'd be interested to see! Oh, and I can now officially attest to retr0bright as an option. Did my Famicom yesterday. Much whiter. All I used was 40 grade creme type hair peroxide, from the beauty store. If I had told them what I was using it for, I'm sure I would have gotten a few odd looks :-P

I found the following item on eBay today:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131144862148?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I contacted the seller, and picked it in person for 150$US equivalent.  I think I did pretty good!  Couple of interesting tidbits:

- original owner - got it as a present when lived in Hong Kong
- Both devices have AC adapters - but Sega 100V power adapters - not nintendo branded ones
- all games are copies (which one would expect give this was purchased in Hong Kong)
- came with original sales receipt and 1 year warranty card from Hong Kong store - both receipts include "110V" written on card, and both have matching serial numbers!

Time to take apart, clean, and see how well it works. I'm super happy with the purchase.

One last thing, it came with this strange U shaped plastic holder (same red color as famicom) that has the words "Mario Boy" written on each side.  I thing it might be an FDS holder - not sure.  Made in Hong Kong.

Any clue??

Let's see the Mario Boy. Great to hear you've joined the club! There's just something satisfying about the Famicom. So simple. It just works (after some mods;-)  )

Her. Email me. I have info you will definitely want now.
