Title: Dendy in America
Post by: Denmon2001 on June 27, 2014, 10:31:00 pm
Hello, I'm new to forums and to Famicom World. I have a penpal friend from Russia (I'll call him Paul) and we were talking to each other through email and letters and somehow it landed on video games. He asked what was the history of video games in America and after I told him about the Atari, the Nintendo vs Sega war, and so on and so on. I told him i had heard about Dendy and its history because of Kinamania88 and he was nice enough to send me a Dendy Junior. He sent me scans of the box and pictures of the system, controllers, and the cords. and of course the AC adapter was different but the A/V cords were the same (at least they look the same as American cords)
If anyone wants to look at pictures and possibly buy one I'd recommend www.NEWGAME.ru
I found the website through the pictures Paul sent me. When i get one will the A/V cords work on a modern TV? Thank you reading and have a good day/afternoon/night. P.S If anyone was wondering yes i have a powerbase converter that accepts Russian plugs so that cover that.

Thanks for the website!
I'm still looking  for working original Dendy clones made by Steepler. Unfortunately the clones that are been sold today, the new ones, are not the same as original.
I consider them as the clone of the clone...
Here is some info about Dendy clones. http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Steepler_Ltd.

There are still original Dendy's to find in good working state but they are very hard to find outside of Russia. If you have good contacts in Russia you can probably find one.

Sorry to break this up into two posts but, I have a question since you are buying one. Will that site send to other countries?
The reason I ask is because i'm thinking about buying a few games from the site. Again sorry for asking another question :-[

Your TV needs to accept PAL video. Its AC adapter will expect European power, more cost effective to replace than convert 120V to 220V.

I do not recommend to buy any newmade stuff neither from Newgame nor Simbas, it's really cheap and crappy. You don't even have a guarrantee that it works or doesn't break next day. The old taiwanese Dendy from Microgenius is a way better but harder to find.

But do they ship to other countries? I swear I feel like I'm on an adventure.
P.S thanks for Simbas.
