I originally posted this on Shmups Forum which I where I have experience selling game stuff, but it's a better fit here obviously.

The AV Famicom has the original AV cables and AC adaptor. The system itself is still in very good condition. I opted to not get the new style controllers when I ordered a Famicom, and these US controllers are in about average shape with a bit of yellowing, on one more than the other. :-[
Rockman 1-6 are all here! No boxes but the carts are in great shape. Only slight discoloration of the back white labels with some minor scuffs. No peeling on any of the stickers, or writing. They look excellent as a set!
Not pictured is a NES to Famicom converter, and about 13 games (also just the carts)
Klax
Guerrila War
Life Force
Gradius
Contra
Ninja Gaiden
Zanac
StarTropics
Starship Hector
Dodge Ball
Ducktales
Xexyz
Super Mario Bros. 3 :mario:
Finally checked each one of these. They are all working excellently. 8)
I don't have a CRT TV or the space for one anymore. I actually got pretty nostalgic hooking all this stuff up again to test it, but ultimately I should let it go. I really need a 3DS XL and I'm hoping this stuff could have me well on the way to one. :help:
$100 seems like a fair deal for the Rockman set. I can do $50 for the AV Famicom with NES controllers. Not sure what to do on the NES games, but $50 to get the lot of them would be fine with me I think. Ask me any questions here, I'll take pictures of anything you like! ;D
Oh, I'm in the US, Kansas City to be exact. Sorry for going overboard on the smileys.
Hi Szycag,
How much for the following games:
Rockman 1
Rockman 3
Rockman 6
Ducktales
And probably Star Tropics..
I'm not far from you, in Mexico :)
I am afraid I would not like to break up the set of Rockman games. I will think more about the NES titles you asked about!
Well...if I didn't have Rockman 2,4 and 5 I would bought the Rockman set, I was thinking to offer $50 usd plus shipping for Rockman 1,3, 6 and Ducktales, if you change your mind ping me back and I'll transfer to your Paypal.
Hello. I sent a PM. Thanks!
I've received several offers! I will get back with you all tomorrow!
Hello. I am interested in the famicom. Is it still available?
The price on the AV Famicom is super low, if I didn't have one then I'd surely own it at that price.
Heck yeah I'm tempted to buy the AV Fami just because why the hell not.
I hope it doesn't take too long to get back to us. I feel like I'm waiting for the result of a lottery. :-\
Ha that's nothing, I just tried to buy one of Rose Colored Gaming's GBAs - now that's nerves.
Sorry to keep you waiting guys. Lord Raziel really wants the Rockman set. I just PM'd him the cost of shipping to Mexico through USPS which he would have to OK. Also Gamestropolis was first to get to me about the AV Fami and NES/Adapter set so I shot him a price. If anything falls through with either of those I will speak with you Bob-bob and L__E__T!
As for my pricing for the AV Famicom, I thought including US NES controllers would limit the value a bit, and the pricing guide said $50 was the low-end for one.
I wouldn't say the NES controllers lowers the price, personally I'd rather play with those anyway.
I already have an AV fami so please rule me out regardless - was just saying it's a great deal :)
Lord Raziel and Gamestropolis just finalized with me. That's everything sold. Sorry to disappoint those who just found the post :(
Welp, there goes my chance at owning all 6 Rockmans. :'(
I knew I'd find a buyer here eventually but that was everything gone in a day! Sorry Bob-Bob!
The worst part is if I had seen this thread exactly 1 hour sooner I might've had a chance.
Don't be silly, there are many others around for decent prices :)
I've been looking on eBay and I don't see much for under 150. :-\
150 is still a good price, that's why, 100 was just a killer price.
Well....if you insist. :-\
Yes, there is not much difference from what I paid, for the shipping to Mexico I had to pay additionally $30 usd ($100 + $30) because I wanted tracking, the shipping rates in E.U. are not cheap as in other countries, so Bob-Bob I recommend you to take that one that is being sold in $150 usd, is really good price :)
Rockman can go for 50 loose alone, I do think 150 is a fair price these days. Rockman 6 has gone up steeply in value and Rockman 2 is usually 30 bucks as well.
Games like Shovel Knight and Megaman being in Smash Bros. are just going to keep pushing the price up over time as well, so at least you can be sure the value will be held when (if) you come to sell.
Specifically, I found a set of Rockman 1-6 + Rockboard going for $155.00 + $15 for shipping. Should I take it?
here is what I purchased
Rockman 345 $27usd
Rockman 2 $15usd
Rockman 1-6 $100usd
not sure about rockboard though. just checked and goes for < $30 prob < $20
so i would say that is too much to pay. unless you want it now.
:)
I don't get it why just Mega Man in Smash would make his NES Games go up

Easy for
you to say. You went and took the cheap set when you already had copies of 4 of the games in it. >:(

sorry. it wasn't my intention. i was going to buy them separately but ended up getting the set when i realised that 1 and 6 are expensive and harder to come buy. :)

Just generally saying things like this keep boosting Rockman popularity to new and existing fans.
Duck Tales games and SDCC exclusives have the same effect - it all boosts demand bit by bit and that also reduces the supply bit by bit - the standard equation for rising prices over time.
My point was, the prices are always going up.
I've found a bunch of the Rockmans as rather cheap individual auctions. Only issue is I don't know if I'll be awake to bid on them. :-\
Damnnnn, $150 is what the Rockman set is worth!? Yeah that went up and I'm glad to have scoured for deals now!!
Rockman 1 - $20 on these forums, Hashiriya1, got so lucky on that one!!
Rockman 2 - $18 on these forums, thank you Manuel!!
Rockman 3 - Around $20 from Super Potato in Japan
Rockman 4 - $10 from Manuel again, thank you.
Rockman 5 - Around $15 from Super Potato again
Rockman 6 - $25 from Trader in Akihabara Japan
Rockboard - $12.50 on Ebay, got super lucky on this one
Total = $120.5, not too shabby ;D That's $108 without Rockboard.
My advice to anyone trying to complete this, BE PATIENT!!! You just have to wait on a good deal to pop up. And if one comes then do not wait on it one second!! I was originally not going to buy Rockboard at all, but for $12 and change I said what the hell, and went for it. Do not, I repeat do not buy on Ebay in haste for individual carts. You'll get raped in price.
This thread is exactly why you have to be patient. I would have 100% gone for it if I didn't already have them all.
I sometimes wonder if maybe I got into collecting too late. :(
Me too.. but I think these things do fluctuate a bit.
Still.. feel like I missed the boat big time on SNES games.. Though that outrageous high is going to result in a rather immediate fall, I think probably within the next year or two. The prices can't stay that high forever.
I thought that about SFC games, but in my years collecting I've noticed prices fall a little but rarely a lot. Games like Rockman 7 were nowhere near the price they are today, but I don't see it dipping much.
Collectors tend to hang on to something even if they've overpaid a lot for it, so you don't see the trend of lower prices, just less for sale which in turn reduces the supply still, keeping prices relatively stable.
I'm still hoping Titlers will fall now the VileTim kit is there (they rose for RGB mods) but that just hasn't happened, it's as if the high price is now established and that's that!
When I started collecting they were $200 brand new - now they're $1000 new and I think that's where they'll stay.
There are some stats tools to look at the prices against inflation over the years, if someone can link some here that would be awesome :)
I originally started collecting hardware, but it's software that has boomed over the years mostly.
If I thrift something here in the Midwest, fine, but I'm not paying collector's prices for anything.
A friend just posted to his Facebook an NES & about 12 games, all CIB, he thrifted. At the counter, he said a couple picker dudes bickered over it in front of him and left saying 'nobody wants this shit.'
So, scores are possible.

To clarify, that story took place in Yucca, California, not the midwest.
That's not really the same thing as collecting Famicom though. You can't walk into a store in America and find Famicom stuff for sale. Unless you live in Japan you pretty much need the Internet to help you. :-\
I've found you can't just walk into a Hong Kong store either - prices were double what I'd get from Japanese sellers.

By the way someone was looking for a reasonably priced AV Famicom weren't they?
As this one in this thread is now sold, I would head here:
http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=6575.0
Why not ask what Rockman games are available while you're there, Senseiman also has great deals, you may get lucky.
He only has Rockman 4 available right now. He sold Rockman 2 before I could get it, and 3 and 5 were two of the first ones to go after he put them up. :(
I'm thinking I should make an all-encompassing WTB thread in case anybody feels generous.
I just need
Rockman
Rockman 2
Rockman 6
You should still be able to get Rockman 1-6 for about $100. That's really good compared to what the NES versions go for now.
That seems to be the case with a lot of Famicom games vs. their NES counterparts. :P
