Nice price, I paid $25 usd for it, and its well worth, I definitelly recommend this cartridge :)
Is the in game menu also in chinese?
The menu on the cartridge is all in English. ;)
I'd recommend this cartridge as well. For me, it works fine on a real Famicom, and as for the games, it contains a lot of early Famicom games, some few NES games from 1985-1990, some later games as well as some rare and expensive games to be found on official NES/Famicom cartridges. Also, CoolBoy decided to put some NiceCode DreamGear games here, which was kind of a bad idea, but other than that, it's probably the best multicart I've ever come across.
And, I am not sure if anybody would be interested in it, but I made a text review about in in February of this year, which you can read here: http://somerussianmariodude.blogspot.ru/2014/02/400-in-1-real-game-famicom-review.html (http://somerussianmariodude.blogspot.ru/2014/02/400-in-1-real-game-famicom-review.html)
does this cart have any rpg games on it. I would think not because then you would need a sram. Just figured i would ask.
also want to vouch for this! Awesome cart. Good famicom exlusives, and other good stuff like Turtles 3, all of the double dragons, MIGHTY FREAKING FINAL FIGHT, both contras plus Contra 6 (some fairly good hack), mario, macross, some other cool shmups, and for the arcade fan, as already mentioned, a lot of really early nes/famicom games.
I spent 30 on mine and its worth every penny!
Any reason to get this cart if you own an Everdrive? Just curious if it includes games I can't play. So nice and cheap for what it is.
Great review, Alex. That's pretty interesting. I might have to take a chance on one of these someday.
It's great if that's real 400 games in one cartridge, but i'm little bit sceptical about that aliexpres site , that's like that alibaba site :-\

I think is better for sharing this to my girlfriend or someone else or when traveling I would rather to carry this game than my everdrive ;)
Also for a collector is really attractive a multicart with real 400 games some really good ones like Chip and Dales 2, Bucky O Hare, Mighty Final Fight and more, I would like to see a multicart with pirate original games only :)
Just ordered, I'm really curious when it arrives.
There was no Paypal option btw...
I was thinking of getting this, but then someone on youtube mentioned that some games have glitches when being played in a U.S. NES with converter? Does anyone happen to know which games glitch?

I was the one who mentioned in youtube (Lord-Raziel) ;) and it seems that my glitches are caused because of my 60 to 72 pin adapter on my NES, later after receiving my AV Famicom I validated again and the glitches were absent there :)

I thought it was someone here ;D
Unfortunately, I don't have access to any Famicom system currently, and I'm using a converter from a Gyromite cartridge. Guess I'll give it a go, and if it does glitch on the games I want to play most, I'll have pick up a Fami down the road.
Played 2 carts on Famicom jr AV famicom, whatever you wanna call it.
And I get glitches =/ pretty bad ones, There was a mod out there for other multicarts to work on original hardware, can that be used on this one?

That's weird :/
You are likely to have the early revision of this multicart, which probably wasn't fixed to work on original Famicom hardware O_O
133Mhzz posted on some spanish forum how to fix some versions of this multicart to be able to work without any problems:

In case someone's wondering, here's how my 400-in-1 multicart looks inside.

Ok, mine does not have the same chipset, can post pics on thursday.
thanks for the link
I have 2 extra copies of this cart that I'd like to get rid of if anyone is interested.
$12 PPD in the USA.
I'm in the US so it'll be a lot faster than from China!
Please PM me if interested. They play fine on my Famicom Twin.
Sold, Thanks

If you still have one on Friday (when I get paid), I'll take one!
I think you need to mod the cart in some way, ask MWK.
In my AV famicom I didn't have any glitches, I have 2 cartridges of this one, none has glitches, have you cleaned the cartridge connector in your Famicom? mine is completelly clean, after receiving it I cleaned my AV Famicom ;)
I cut the bridge as in the spanish mod, did not add the diod though, but now all games are glitch free.
My other 60 or so games work so there's not a problem with the connector
I ordered one from a different seller, will report back here when I actually get it to see if it is different at all to the picture posted in the thread earlier.
For reference it was this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wholesale-lot-game-cards-400-in-1-is-not-repeated-shipping-2014-hot-classic-NES/1531856404.html Which has it for just under $7 USD
Just ordered one also..Have to wait 25 days to get it
In that pic of the PCB, You can't put it in a NES Shell withouit leaving the middle screw out

I'll give this one a go. If it doesn't work it's only $7 shipped.
Got mine in today and it is different than the one posted earlier, here is pictures of the one I got

It also glitches out when tried to be played so going to have to modify it so it works on my Twin Famicom.
EDIT: Indeed all I had to do was cut the trace mentioned and it all works, here is a pic of my horrible slicing job :p
(http://i.imgur.com/wuovoJa.jpg)
I got mine today, and it works kind of on my U.S. Toploader w/ Gyromite converter except for these lines that appear:
Should I do the mod to fix it?
That is what my cart did, had those lines and would crash when trying to play a few titles. Cutting the trace fixed all that for me.
Yep, pushing around in that area made the lines go away!
So, what's a good item to use to make the incision? A butter knife?

x-acto knife if you have one, scissors if you're desperate

Cool, it's now works perfect! Thanks!
On what console have you tested? in my AV famicom mines (I have 2 cartridges) work perfectly, no glitches, however in my USA NES when using a 60 to 72 converter there are glitches only in some games like Bucky o Hare, Mighty Final Fight, I assumed was my converter fault. Has anyone installed the mentioned diode there? or just cutting the line?
I just cut the line, and the games you've mentioned work just fine (I didn't play too far into them). The only ones I had problems with was 1942 (as AlexRus mentions in his blog post) and Jackpot, which froze on me after pressing B during the game.
This was tried on both my U.S. NES Top-loader and U.S. NES Front-loader with a converter from Gyromite. (using RF module on both)
I also used a Game Genie with it and it works great (at least the ssassa code for the #96 SMB1).
Also, Chip and Dale 3, the Heavy Barrel hack, will freeze after a minute into the first level and bring up a 5 in 1 menu (which no matter what you choose from it, goes back to its title screen). - Strange... it works fine now.
New problem (Aug 22): The Status bar of Spartan X has wrong palette, and the Japanese symbols glitch kind of like, say, the mirroring of Super Mary. Good thing I have an official cart of it, though :)
Mine also freezes on Jackpot after hitting the B button, and I've noticed minor graphics glitches (those stray lines) on several games. Overall, not too bad.
Thank you for the tip on the trace. Got this cart recently and was freezing with a Gyromite adapter.

Mine arrived on wednesday. Works great on my handheld clone, haven't tested in real famicom yet.
I'm still having the glitches on my US Nes :(, my cart is different than the posted, which line should cut here, any idea?
Post Merge: August 23, 2014, 12:21:47 am
I cut in the little rectangle in the upper left of where D2 and D3 are marked for being installed and now I see nothing in my nes, no video, not much problem since I can solder there, but any idea which diodes should I install there?
Thanks for posting about this OP! It's been awhile since I stopped by, but I jumped on one of these for $7.XX shipped. Just got it and it works great on my AV Famicom. It's definitely going to be fun going through this cart. :D
One thing to note:
If you are playing Batman, it seems to be the U.S. second beta release version, which means if you run out of weapon power, you can't return to punch unless you get to the next level or lose a life.
Bonus: You can skip levels using A or freeze the game by pressing down on controller 2!
Looks like there's a new version of the cart available:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3g8yelR7gc
Kick Master! Solbrain! Snow Bros!
If anyone knows where to get it and if it works on real hardware, let me know!
Ahh that new one has better games!, I asked in the youtube post about where to get it ;)
Seems playing fast
I would also know also where to get it
Cool, KizunaBlade now has a link to Taobao in the video, but I also found this one:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/lot-Game-classic-FC-NES-game-card-game-198-cards-a-lot-of-fun-together-1/1586472886.html
Sure it's only 198 in 1, but has most of the games in the video (and the Nice Code stuff is in the middle of the cart). I'll wait for part 2 of KizunaBlade's video before I decide which to get.

It looks awesome, i would love to have it too... i'm so sad it's on chineese and don't know how to register! :(
I recently did a 23-part "Let's Play" of the 400 in 1 (the old one, not the one in KizunaBlade's video):

I really hate the sound of my voice... and the final video gets really weird.

I watched a few videos of your LP, and liked them. :)
It's great to see that someone decided to make an LP on this multicart. :D
I have actually wanted to make a gameplay video of a few games, included on this cart, but due to lack of time on everything I planeed, it wasn't doable.
And yes, I commented on a few of your videos, so don't forget to check out my comments.
As for sound of voice... I hate the sound of my voice in video as well ;_;
That's why I don't make these kinds of videos often on my main channel.
I made some LPs, livestreams with MrNorbert1994, as well as pickups videos, and one "Gameplay & Commentary" video, but the majority of uploaded videos are without any narration or commentary. :(
@DCCecil,
Thank you for your great series of videos on this cart! I am so glad you actually did play by play commentary rather than adding stupid hip hop or techno music that a lot of people on YouTube use...
So if I understand correctly, there is a 198-in-1, and does it have some games that the 400-in-1 has, and some that the 400-in-1 doesn't ?
If you have the 400 in 1 from the first post, then you'd only need the 198 in 1 to have the rest of the games that are also on the 400 in 1 KizunaBlade shown plus some others added like Squashed & Sunman (Prototypes!), Recca Summer Carnival '92, and Panic Restaurant (not sure if its the NA/EU or JPN version). Also, there's less Nice Code (Dreamgear) games, and they happen to be in the middle of the cartridge, so you don't have to scroll through them to reach the good stuff!
Here's a video I found of the 198 in 1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc92qItEh-8
Hey, I want to understand- the 400 doesn't feature those cames you list? The 198 does? I'm interested in picking up the 400 from alibaba- if only for circuit-bending purposes, but also want to know the best games, for play purposes.
Post Merge: October 15, 2014, 06:58:12 pm
Great review! Thanks! The scrolling menu is a great addition.
I got my 198 in 1 today...
- Works without modification on my NTSC system!
- Mine includes 7 more games not in the video above (so it's actually a 205 in 1):
Gun.Smoke
Bases Loaded 4 - Seems to freeze randomly
Saiyuuki
Flying Hero
A hack of Adventure Island 1 called Boonie Bear 2 (after the Chinese CG animation)
A hack of Adventure Island 2 called "Where's my daddy gone to?" (after the Chinese reality series "Dad, Where Are We Going")
A hack of JPN Ninja Gaiden III called "Hero Alliance 2" - Based on anything?
I'm really sick right now so I'll go into more details later (maybe some more Youtube videos?), but I enjoyed what I've played so far!
DDCecil,
Hope you fell better! I am looking forward to your next review. I am thinking of getting both of those multicarts. I guess I am really fascinated with multicarts lately...
I'm still kind of sick, but I started a video series about the 198 in 1 anyways. Enjoy!

198 (instead of 205) because 198 is a better sounding number (kinda related to fortune) in Chinese
Infact my 400 in 1 has also 3 extra games - the same hacks as DDCecil mentioned early...
So it's coolboy 403 in 1 ;D

So...if you play 400 in 1 you die?
4 is an unlucky Chinese number, because it sounds like the word "death". So if you want to insult a Chinese / Taiwanese person, give them their wedding money in increments containing four.
That was my point, if 198 is related to good fortune, and the number 4's related to bad fortune (death), then Coolboy must think you die when you play 400 in 1 or something.
