Title: repro boxes
Post by: nesgamer91 on November 12, 2014, 12:29:40 pm
Right so I know this might get a few frowns from some hardcore collectors, but I've been thinking about maybe putting together some repro box's for loose carts. Just a temporarything for loose carts  until I can upgrade to boxed. I'm quite nifty on photoshopbut at the moment I've only got an xperia tablet, and using the ps app as apposed to the full blown version just doesn't cut it. So I'm wondering if anyone could possibly put some together.

Thought this might be a good starting thread for people to post there designs.

I'm also wondering about what sort of card to use to print on. Would probablybe a heavy guage with a satin as apposed to gloss texture.

Thoughts? :redcart:

You start making repro boxes, I will personally hunt you down.  NES scene is ruined by that sort of garbage, it doesn't need to be brought into the Famicom scene.  No thanks.

I personally wouldn't mind having boxes for my Famicom carts. I can see how it would ruin collector value if the boxes weren't explicitly stated as repros, but maybe if they were designed for something like the Universal Game Cases, it would be nice and the carts will be protected from dust and impact (assuming Famicom carts fit in UGCs) and won't harm the collector value of CIB stuff. I've seen UGC box templates for Super Famicom games, and many of them look amazing.

I'm thinking Purley for my own collection. I would never dream of fobbing them off as originals. I just think it's a cheaper alternative to buying cib games

I shall twist your mind with the horrors of illegitimacy. You slowly die as you hear the words "9999 in 1 super game lambo mary hunt duck FC subor game"....

Anyways, why not use universal game cases? They protect the cartridges better.

This question would probably be best answered somewhere else. I don't think any of our members are too keen on repro boxes and as such probably won't give the answer you are looking for. From what I have seen, these types of posts usually end in a flame war so in order to avoid that I am just going to go ahead and lock this thread. If another mod disagrees, feel free to reopen the thread.

Universal game cases would be a good option assuming they fit. There are databases online with plenty of art for you to print right out for them.

Universal Game Cases are certainly the most straightforward.  I don't know anyone that makes FC repr boxes either.  Agree with locking thread, for the best..
