Are there any 2P Famicom games that have AI/Computer players in place of Player 2? Thanks for any answers.

Punch-out has AI! But, it's not in place of player 2.

I think some of the bland-name sports games have AI.

For a minute I thought you were talking about someone named "AL", short for Alan.

Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo Zenin Shuugou!

If you don't have a second player, the computer will control a second player for you.  Some of the other Kunio games may have a similar feature.

Final Fight 3 has a CO-AI. :)

V'Ball has a simple AI for player 2 that sets the ball up for you.

X-Men has a self-controlled second player, but it's neither a Famicom game nor is it intelligent.
