I'm thinking about getting a Sharp Twin Famicom, primarily to play disk games, but also cartridges without having to use an adapter on my NES.
Anyway, the Twin seems cheaper to get (than buying a Famicom and then the Disk Drive). But is there any benefit of getting a Famicom and Disk Drive instead of a Twin?
I don't want to buy a Twin (which is still fairly expensive) only to find out it's really lacking compared to the Famicom and Disk Drive.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.
The only disadvantage I can think of is that FDSloadr probably doesn't work with a Twin. But it doesn't work for most people anyway. There are new FDSloadr-like solutions now though.
You could always just buy a loose RAM Adapter and try the image loading part of FDSloadr and such though.
Other than that, there are almost only advantages. You get AV-output and controller II with mic. No NES controller ports though.
I recommend a fully modified original Famicom with FDS attached.
