Title: Super Power Pak/Mega Power Pak
Post by: MarioMania on June 21, 2007, 06:17:20 pm
I was just thinking about the Power Pak for the NES..How about one for the SNES..I would donate a Proto Cart, I don't know if bunnyboy is thinking making one for the SNES/SFC also for the Genesis/Mega Drive using the V. R Case

Would you guys buy one to play Hack Games on the SNES/SFC/Genesis/MD

Why not just buy a SNES copier or SNES flash cart?  They're readily available.  Same for Genesis.

Pointless - the only dev item I'm interested in getting for the SNES would be a Star Fox 2 repro.

do you know how to put roms on a snes cart, jedi?

There's a way puting ROM's on it but it too complex & uses the Parallel Port to download the ROM...That's why I ask about it, It would be alot easier to put it on Compact Flash Cards & put it in SNES Made Carts

can you tell me this complex way because I want to do it

If you want to make a SNES repro you'll need a donor cart and EPROM programmer.  In the case of Star Fox 2, you'd need a SFX 2 donor like Yoshi's Island.

www.gamereproductions.com (http://www.gamereproductions.com) makes some SNES repros, and might be able to make more.

Lol, damn, the dude doesnt want to make a sf2 cart. what a fucker.
I was thinking it might be cool to mod the power pak for famicom.  I would cut the PCB in half, re solder all the connections thereby making a foldable power pak, so its half the size but double the width now, then i would use a converter pcb and stuff it in one of those oversize namco carts. what do you guys think?

Have you looked at the board for the power pak?  There's an SMT FPGA with over 100 pins.  Good luck soldering jumper wires to all those pins.  Why not just place Famicom ROMs onto the cart and play them on the NES?  Or use a converter.

He doesn't want to make another one? Hasn't he done it before? I've read that someone ordered one from him. Maybe it's more work. :-\

Glad to help 8)

Most of his labels look good, but some of them look kinda fadded.  Overall I think they are fine, especially cause they are cheaper than nesreproduction.com and you don't have to find a donor cart either :P
