What's your favorite SNES game? MIne is EarthBound :) Maybe the graphics arent the best compared to other SNES games such as Chrono Trigger, but the music, gameplay and story are KICK-ASS!!! ;D
That would be Zelda - A Link to the Past for me.
One of the top 3 games in videogame history (for me). :)
The Donkey Kong Country franchise.
I have quite a few favorites, most notably Super Metroid.
Super Mario RPG
Zelda 3 (I've seen it written that way so many times, but someone said it wasn't)
Its ok to call it zelda 3, people in japan sometimes call it that. my favorite(s) are the goemon games
Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyuuhutsu Emaki
Ganbare Goemon: Kiteretsu Shogun Magginessu
Ganbare Goemon: Shishijyurokubei no Karakuri Manji Katame
Ganbare Goemon: Kirakira Dochuu; Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Ryu
best games of all time right there, sorry guys, goemon just pwns, it also has the most games in the series of any konami franchise except castlevania (which only outnumbers it by one right now because of the new Portrait of Ruin for DS)
let me add FF3 as well
For some weird reason, I also like Super Bonk. I find it pretty good and awesome and I just like the feeling that you get while playing it. The game is pretty funny and comical at some parts. In some places you can actually get eaten by this weird dinosaur and play in his stomach until you reach his exit! :D
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
I'm gonna add Final Fantasy IV, Illusion of Gaia, Earthbound, and Super Mario All-Stars.

For me it's also Zelda 3. Everybody who says something different is stupid. :P ;)

Don't know if he's a jungle boy, but yeah it's him. He was the mascot for the Turbo Graphx system.
Super Mario RPG
Final Fantasy IV
Oscar
Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars
NBA Jam
Hmmm....never played Oscar. What is it? :)
My favorite SNES game is none other than Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Zelda 3 and Super Metroid come close. For a SNES game to beat Zelda and Metroid is no easy feat at all. It just goes to show how awesome Donkey Kong Country 2 is.

I use to play that game ALL the time with my cousin! :DGood memories...
My Favorite:
Secret of Mana
Zelda 3
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy V
Chrono Trigger
Megaman X series
Earthbound
Mario All Stars
Mario Kart
and
Secret of Evermore
Guess I gotta say "Super Mario RPG".

The Donkey Kong Country franchise.
I finally got a chance to play these recently...totally overrated in my opinion. The only cool thing about them was the graphics. The enemies had no decent intelligence, they were just placed in the right spots to screw you over. I thought the overall gameplay was just terrible.
Now as for good games, definitely Mario Kart and F-Zero. I'm not sure if it still holds up, but Rock n Roll racing was great for the time.

It's about this dude named Oscar, who is filming movies. You have to find the minature "Oscar's" (Which is the running joke of the whole game), and complete levels. There's SO many secrets to find and so many things to do. An absolute hidden gem.
Add Mega Man X to my list as well. :P

I thought the same thing, too. But I didn't want to say anything. :P
I forgot about the port of Out of This World... I think the added music made it more tense.
Earthbound, without a doubt.

No, they are not overrated at all, especially Diddy's Kong Quest. That's what I thought at first when I only played the games a little bit from an emulator. But after purchasing new copies of Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2, I changed my mind completely. They are as good as the Mario games and they're even more charming in some ways because of the enhanced graphics. Saying that the only cool thing about them was the graphics is simply wrong. The music is some of the best compositions in the industry and the gameplay is outstanding, especially for Diddy's Kong Quest.
I selected Diddy's Kong Quest as the best game for the Super NES for a reason. The game is so perfect, so beautiful for a Super NES game, and the level designs so top-notch, the music composition so superb, that I give it my highest recommendation. Donkey Kong Country, when it first came out, was one of a kind. It lacked the extreme polish of the second game, but it's still excellent and very beautiful. The games are so highly rated for a reason, and it's not just the graphics. The gameplay is top-notch as well.
The music for Donkey Kong is beautiful. Who was the composer? David Wise? I didn't think he could be topped, but then came Graeme Norgate. :o
Still overrated game in my opinion.
You said it yourself. It's David Wise. There was another composer along with him in Donkey Kong Country, but in Diddy's Kong Quest, only David Wise was listed. Well, whoever did the composition should be applauded.
He should've done the music for Donkey Kong 64 as well, but I read somewhere that it was the same person who did the music for Banjo-Kazooie. :-\

Yea, the mining cart level on DKC had such excellent gameplay. Dying repeatedly until you learn the exact moment to push a single button. That's a lot of fun!!!
I don't really know why, but I like all of the Donkey Kong games on SNES except for Donkey Kong 3. It just doesn't match up to the first and second one...just too boring :-\
Mega Man X2

Yeah, why'd they have to lose Diddy? I mean, damn - it's not even Donkey Kong anymore. :P
Street Fighter II' Champion Edition from the
Turbo: Hyper Fighting edition!
Zangief wins.

Yeah. That may be the reason to why I just don't like that game. The Dixie Kong and Baby kong (forgot the name) duo isn't as much fun to play with as the Diddy and Dixie duo were.
It is going to be hard for me to pick one from these:
Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Goemon)
Kirby Super Star
Super Metroid
Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius
Super Aleste (Space Megaforce)
Gradius III
Lufia II
Final Fantasy III (VI)
Awesome games are EVERYWHERE on that system.
I really should add Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Avalanche to my list...both great games.
Battleclash and Metal Combat for me. The Super Scope was so much fun. Nintendo needs to bright it back on the wii somehow.
I bought battleclash a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason I still didn't pop it in my SNES yet! :D
I have to agree with all the posts for Diddy's Kong Quest. That game is so very nostalgic for me. Great gameplay as well.
Hands down Super Metroid. Favorite game EVER!!! :)
I would like to say a castlevania game but sadly the one ones on Super Nintendo are just not very good. So I suppose I will have to say Chrono Trigger at the moment. I have yet to play completely through so many of the other favs on this list that Chrono Trigger currently stands as my favorite Super Nintendo Game.
Hrm...gotta go with Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

I would often play this game with my cousin back in the days. And sometimes when I had to visit my grandmother I would bring my SNES and play this game with her...really good memories :)
