Is there a Famicom original version of Kickmaster? I would definitely like to know what the game is called if there is...
Also...I suppose this could be Kickmaster general.
Do you like the game? Do you hate the game? It seems to be going up in price and it looks like a pretty entertaining game.
Not unlike Little Samson it was made by Taito and it was put out on the NES near the end of it's life cycle.
Here's a gameplay video:

No, Kick Master was never released on Famicom, it's an NES exclusive. And it wasn't *made* by Taito, they only published it. It was made by KID, which is why it's in a similar style to their G.I. Joe games. In fact, Little Samson wasn't made by Taito either, but rather Takeru.
I absolutely adore Kick Master, one of the finest games available for the NES. The move variety and emphasis on boss encounters are what make it stand out to me.
Ah, thanks for the reply. Didn't know about Takeru. I did beat Little Samson though. Maybe I should try Yellow Submarine.
Kickmaster was never officially released on Famicom; however, it was released on pirate cartridges for Famicom in Eastern Europe, Asia, and South America during the early - mid 1990s.
Is it known if Takeru, or any key members of their dev team, worked on anything else?
Takeru also did Cocoron for the Famicom. src: http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Takeru (http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.php/Takeru)

Somehow I missed this when I originally searched for Takeru. I've forgotten about Yellow Submarine for the moment, which looks fairly ancient (not to mention I don't own an MSX), and I've decided I need to add Cocoron to my collection.
I like that I'm still finding out about cool games on the NES/Famicom. Plus I suppose there are still cool games coming out in the homebrew world.
Actually...
Kick Master was not supposed to be published by Taito, it was actually Taxan, but they got bankrupt around 1991. (You can see still the Taxan logo buried in KickMaster's ROM though.)
Not so long ago I made a simple mock up, how I would imagine, if the game was released on the Famicom: http://i.imgur.com/Pkry3a9.jpg
Yeah, KickMaster is a solid title. But I must admit it took a little while for it grow on me. And there seem to be a lot of magic items that I have no use for in that game.
