Title: WTB: Ten (10) Cheap CIB Famicom Games
Post by: mobiusclimber on August 01, 2015, 07:19:46 pm
I'm working on a project right now for a limited edition run of a certain rare bootleg, which I will be selling here on these forums. Since I'm planning on doing a CIB release, I need a few things, namely the plastic cartridge holders that go in the boxes and cartridge shells in good shape. So I'd like to buy 10 cheap CIB games, as that is likely the easiest way to procure those two things that I need. I'm talking Mahjong, baseball, I don't care. The box itself can be thrashed, the label can be gone for all I care. But the plastic cart holder and the cartridge itself need to be in very good shape. I'd also prefer that none of the carts have the company name molded into the plastic, like Namcot and several other companies did. Beyond that, I don't care. I'm hoping to get these for around $5 apiece, but no more than $10.

I am guessing it will be Super Maruo?  Or a different game?

Edit:  Also, why stop it with a limited edition?  Are the carts going to be numbered, etc?  Please excuse me for being suspicious and skeptical, but I am personally not a big fan of the idea of Famicom collecting turning the way NES collecting has over the past five years or so...

It will be hand numbered. I want to ensure that I'll sell out of these. If you guys want more than 10 let me know but not gonna make more after these. I will be selling NES ones on a few other sites. But they will all be limited as well with different labels and cartridge colors. Thinking of doing this release on orange cart in honor of the forum color.

Also the fact is there are no donor carts for this and they need a special chip. So I don't know how long my source will last on this.

What game is this?  What is the price we are talking here?

If the game is one that I don't have, please sign me up.  But I think more details on your project would be useful.  :)

I will announce it when I'm closer to releasing it. It's meant to be a fun surprise.

Whatever it is, I'm excited! I enjoy stuff like this quite a bit. Can't help you out with your boxes, though. Sorry!  :bub:

Hahaha, ok. Well good luck then, and sorry for the negative tones of my previous messages.

Where is the sign up list to get one?  I don't want to miss out, and 10 is such a short number.

Again, was waiting for the announcement before I started a list. But just for you, I'll reserve a slot, mentally, so when I post the announcement you'll have a spot on it.

I'm still looking. Anyone able to help me out? I could also offer the #1 / 10 cart in trade (which would theoretically be double what I'm willing to spend on buying the boxed games).

Is that all you have boxed in my price range? I'd like to get at least five or more at once to save on shipping. And hoping they are titles no one actually cares about (othello, shogi, mahjong, pachi-slot, etc) since I'll pretty much be destroying them. LMK, thanks!
