Title: Family Basic help thread
Post by: Jaek_3 on November 28, 2015, 06:03:01 pm
Alright so I just got my keyboard and family basic, and I'll be posting a lot, so rather than posting a thread for each of my questions, I decided that it would be more efficient if I posted one thread alone. So, can someone explain the basics of making a text based game in family basic? Nothing that I've done in Atari Basic is compatible.

Have you made a text based game in Atari Basic? In that case I don't think it will be hard to make something similar in Famibe once you have learned how to use it. The manual from page 16 (http://famicomworld.com/Personal/uglyjoe/FamilyBasicManual.pdf) should explain everything you need to know about programming in Family Basic (also check out the text-file attachment in this post (http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=8876.0) for a translation of the rest of the manual).

You can ask questions of things you don't understand here.

Alright, I figured it out. Alas, because when I was working on a text based rpg, I ran out of ram literally 1/20th of the way to finishing it  :'(.
