Title: Question for the Russian Users Regarding Dendy
Post by: fcgamer on January 09, 2016, 09:17:49 pm
My buddy found this Famiclone yesterday, and I was quite surprised:

The Dendy elephant is clearly there.  But the machine is called Zoga.

Is this brand known in Russia?  Is it some sort of Dendy knock-off?  Or the predecessor to Dendy?  Or?

I know that the original Dendy stuff (also with Pegasus) was all manufactured here, and then rebranded before being sold to Russia and Poland, etc, so it just makes me wonder about this little guy.

I've seen Zoga machines before, but they're Chinese:

Perhaps they just stole the Dendy logo?  The wonderful world of Famiclones, anyone want an XBox? ;D

it's relatively modern made SMD shaped famiclone produced by ZOGA, so it can't be predecessor to Dendy. I think that Dendy elephant was put here for nostalgic purposes and to increase selling rate.

it has nothing to relate with Dendy. Just ODM with custom logo requested by the importer. You know, when you order huge quantities of product let's say about 1000pcs or higher,  you may then ask manufacturer to put any logo/label you want.

Perhaps, Dendy is almost well known and famous brand for 8bit game era in Russia since 90s, so it could ease the selling somehow.
