Title: Garbled graphics...
Post by: CallumBarker on February 17, 2016, 12:57:55 pm
Hey all, new to the Famicom scene. So I recently bought a copy of Dr. Mario, and after cleaning the pins, cleaning the famicom' contacts, this is what I'm met with. Is there anything I can do to get this to work, or should I admit defeat? The game gets to this point, but after pressing start the text is all nonsense, and when a game's in process the graphics are messy.

Is it just that one game? If so, but the game is still playable, I would figure the chr or some trace connecting has failed.

It's just this one game, all others work pretty much flawlessly... Is there anything i can really do?

You could always try more cleaning. File down the pins with fine sandpaper, sand eraser or glassfiberpen until they shine. Then clean again with 90% isopropanol and let it dry. If it doesn't get better at all, the CHR ROM or some trace/component to it might be broken.
