Title: Writing FDS Games with Everdrive
Post by: Elysiom on February 22, 2016, 10:00:58 am
Hello all, I have a stack of miswritten, bootlegs and junk disks that I would like to re-write.

I would like to use something like Disk Hacker II but finding one of these disks is increasingly rare.

Is it possible to load the Disk Hacker ROM into memory from an Everdrive? I'm thinking it would just try writing to the emulated disk controller rather than the real hardware.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I have no idea how that would ever work...  You'd have no way of having the FDS hardware (ie RAM cart) plugged in at the same time as the Everdrive for a start.

One solution would be to get an FDSStick, write-mod a suitable FDS drive, and make an adapter cable.

FDSStick and info on cable:

One thing I forgot to add is I'm using a Sharp Twin Famicom, I think that ends this idea right there as there is a switch to change between the Famicom cartridge slot and disk drive. - Doh
