Hi,
did someone ever seen Akumajō Dracula II on Blue Fax disk?
I found one for sale in Japan.
It seems like normal Disk Fax like Golf disk, but with original Dracula sticker on in regular DS box.
Its probably from Nintendo Disk Writer kiosk, but are you able to get original stickers on in too?
Or its kind of proto model of Fax version of Akumajō Dracula II ?
Never seen it before.
What do you think?

the sticker is not too large, so i doubt if any issue arise when you carefully move it from one disk to another by applying some heat from hair dryer or heat gun.
no need to hurry. you always can polish that skill on dirt cheap disk cards until you get highly reproducible results on every single try :)
Well and what is the reason in buying original disk, peel of a sticker and apply it on rewrited one?
Doesnt make much sense does it?.
Well, it does make sense if you can pawn it off as an ultra rare never before seen version. People try things like this in Japan and Asia especially.
In short though no there was never any blue version - so what you are looking at could be a copy, does it say NINTENDO on the bottom of the disk in giant stenciled letters or something like NINIEND0?
Do you have a pic to check? It could be a rewritten disk, but I don't think the kiosks took 3rd party disks. They did provide stickers and (red and black ink only) manuals though.
I really just think this is a disk writer kiosk game. I've seen other games on blue disks, it happens from time to time.
Its probably from legitimate kiosk, if they privide stickers and manuals.
Heres a picture

Wow there was a similar thread ages before!

Perhaps it is the same copy. It's a nice oddity but would have to be a rewritten blue disk - Konami weren't part of the published blue disks promos.
You can tell if it's a legit Disk Writer version as it'll have a red and black foldout manual like this, rather than a full booklet: https://nintendosegajapan.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/gooniesfds_3.jpg?w=636&h=477
The full colour artwork and colour manual are not from the Disk Writer version. So it could be a regular version combined with a rewritten blue disk and this is what I think is the case.
Great little find though, it's a conversation piece for sure - but not a holy grail or anything like that. It's rare in that it shouldn't exist because there wasn't an official run.
Did Dracula 2 have disk labels in the manual? If so, someone just rewrote their own blue disk and got labels from a manual.
I don't know but as Let said you get new stickers and a cheap manual (usually fold-out) from the store clerk when you rewrite a disk. I think usually the store clerk operated the disk writer machine for you, it's not a vending machine.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a blue disk or pirate disk in the disk writer. As long as the store clerk approves of course.

the money. the profit from selling 'ultra rare' edition of game could be few times bigger than the overall spending for constructing of this 'ultra rare' edition.
So they did have third party games available in disk writer kiosk?

I found a picture of blue Disk Zelda on ebay, its same case as Dracula one.
Manual looks like from kiosk.

Label sticker on this one look slightly different though.
They did have 3rd party games in the Disk Writer kiosk, but not in the blue disk program.
That Zelda is a Disk Writer version - the manual you can see is red and black and foldout, rather than the normal booklet.
Definitely looks like a rewritten blue disk and a few bits from a regular Zelda pieced together.
Disk Writer games did come with label stickers - you'd grab those and the foldout manual from the cashier who would also write the disk for you.
But there is no blue disk Zelda on record, so if you read otherwise that is folks trying it on to advertise a rare game and snag a sucker. So if it's advertised as such you should ignore that.
Yes, and blue disk games are cheap and not rare at all. So it's easy to find them if you want them for your collection.

What pieces are from the regular version? I think only the manual and maybe the outer box is the only thing that's different between diskwriter and regular version?
I don't think Disk Writer games cam with an outer box actually - I think you just got handed the disk back and a manual with stickers, that's all you would have needed after all. Slip cases and boxes are not game-unique. The manuals were needed and sticker labels to well, label - but I haven't heard of them handing out fresh new boxes and sleeves, it was a rewrite service after all.
I wonder how accurate the Game Center CX movie was...
I used to have a blue Akumajo Dracula disk when i still collected. (http://www.vgmuseum.com/mrp/multi/collector-protogem.htm)
It was just a relabeled/written disk writer game, I'm pretty sure.

Yeah I think so too, but I think you also get the obi for the game when you write it. The slip case, hard case and possibly outer box probably comes with the empty disk when you buy it.
I think my diskwriter games has the outerbox too, but I have no idea if it has been added later by a previous owner of course.
Do you have link to the movie?
I don't have a link to the movie, but it's all in Japanese as well I should note
Are we sure that Disk Writer games came as a blank disc? I thought you just re-wrote a regular disc perhaps. I would like to see an unwritten disc package, but it seems difficult to find one.
That's what I heard anyway. It would suck if you couldn't get a diskwriter game until you have first bought a package game and then destroyed it by rewriting the disk.
Haven't seen anything that looks like empty disk packages either, like the Nintendo Power carts for Super Famicom and Game Boy. But there might never been any if the cashier provides you with the blank disk in case you don't bring your own (probably still cheaper than package games).
I wonder if it even works? I bought three official copies, all of which the disk system failed to read. Thankfully Fdsstick is around now.
