Title: Can I use aluminum foil instead of copper foil for reducing jailbars on av fami?
Post by: super_mario on January 17, 2017, 06:09:22 am
I recently av modded my HVC-CPU-GPM-02 famicom successfully but with noticeable jailbars. I was just wondering if it's ok to use aluminum foil for shielding the PPU if I don't have the copper one.

it's pefrectly fine.

any metal foil will help. copper foil is just easier to solder. i'd never soldered alumium myself, i can recalling that it's quite hard, but still possible with right soldering wire and flux.

Use tin. Easy to solder, easy to cut and bend. Just glue it tothe chip.
