Title: My Newest Discreet chip clone!
Post by: skyway1985 on June 28, 2017, 11:23:23 am
So i Just Got this clone off of Ebay, it was labeled as a Rainbow famiclone, but its actually a Xin Tian computer game. It is a really NICE clone. the only thing they cheaped out on was actually installing the mic..... take a look at these pics! Anywho, the player 2 controller PCB actually supports the mic, and so does the Main PCB so its just a matter of swapping in a mic, cap and 1 more cable through the controller cable jacket. already put a real volume slider, cap and mic in it. 1 cable and we're cooking with gas!
This will look good with my Reggie's entertainment system and HiTex HT-767! nicest part was it was also NTSC instead of Dendy Pal.

Has anyone else ever encountered one of these?

Looks like the standard famicom direct style clone, very nice though.

yea it does, but the built in turbo sliders are what really won me over. this is the only clone i've seen that had them like with variying control versus the standard turbo buttons

Some AARONIX models also had that.

The first one is AWESOME! would love to scoop one of those. the ax-9900 scares me a bit.....
To update the story on this new clone. It was in horrid shape, RCA jacks were shot, cold solder joints everywhere didn't turn on controller pad PCB and rubber contacts were in terrible shape..... so i went through it repaired it all.

went back to the seller and let him know that it wasn't sold as advertised. that i had to practically rebuild the darn thing and asked if i could get at least a partial refund. the seller gave me a full refund instead! AND told me to keep it! so pretty happy about that. I also left him positive feedback for going above and beyond to rectify the issues.

So not bad for FREE!!! lol

FAMICOM_87, you aren't lying!  the AX-9900 could probably fit an FDS inside! Sooo much space!!! i'm going to RGB mod the Reggie's Entertainment system soon. THAT will be interesting.... xD My AV famicom is already RGB and i love that thing. but now i want to RGB everything! i have 8 disk drives left so i'll make sure each clone has it's own lol

Yeah great find! Not sure I'd call it a clone though, as I believe it uses official components. I rather call it a rare RGB Famicom model.

I think the only official Famiclone is the NES ;D

I think both the NES Classic Edition and the Famicom Mini count as official Famiclones.

They are designed the mimic the NES/Famicom, they are made by Nintendo, and they carry limitations the original hardware does not.

Yeah well they are the emulator box type of Famiclone, like Retron 5.
