Title: Timeouts or just huge delay when accessing the boards
Post by: famifan on November 07, 2017, 10:34:44 am
Hi.

i'm experiencing the following behavior few times a day:
getting several timeouts of page loading in a row or just huge delay before opening the boards for the first time within couple of hours of inactivity. once it's loaded, next time it works like a charm. just click-click and it loads lightning fast without any delay.

strange thing, i can't recall the same on any other boards. i haven't tried different ISP, so i'm going to blame my setup. however, i don't have any idea how to troubleshoot this.

is it just me or anybody else gets this kind of behavior lately?

Does it give you any kind of error message?

When it's having problems loading, can you ping famicomworld.com ?

it was likely some kind of intermittent DNS issues on the side of my local ISP.

In order to mitigate this, i've just added DNSSEC and DNSCrypt with DNS cache to my setup.

so, sorry for the false alarm  :-[ it was not related to famicomworld's infra anyhow  :)

I nailed it. Finally :)

It turned out to be an issue with my router. For unknown reason after a while it's starting to completely block  at least famicomworld.com (didn't notice issues with any other resources)

after rebooting, everything works like a charm.
