I have a "new famicom" (hvc-101) connected via cheap A/V HDMI adapter. Not the ideal solution but it's currently just for testing purposes.
The problem is when turning the system on, after about 1 second the screen flickers once and then the image has a green striped band and slightly worse image quality.
The delay feels always the same length. Pressing "reset" doesn't reset the image (green stripe stays), neither does quickly turning on and off. Only turning it off for at least a second will reset the image and cause the 1 second delay until the band appears again.
According to this behaviour, I assume it's caused by a faulty capacitor. Visually all capacitors look perfectly fine. Unfortunately I don't have the means to test them.
The slot and cartridges are clean.
Is this a common or known problem?

Can you see the stripe when viewing the composite signal natively? It could be an issue with the cheap HDMI converter.
try another AV device to see if the problem is still exist , it looks like the your HDMI converter is the problem, not the famicom it self
The stripe suddenly disappeared. I didn't change anything. It might have been an interference in the cable or the converter I guess.
Although when I get the "pink screen" there are some very visible corrupt stripes. I will post a picture later if I can provoke a pink screen.
Just test it straight on your TV without any sort of converter crap to evaluate all options. There is still an option you would get the answer yourself
