Title: Do regular Famicom carts fit in Namco/Taito hard plastic cases?
Post by: kuniokun on April 19, 2018, 08:52:08 am
I am thinking about buying some Namco and Taito Famicom games so I could use the hard plastic cases they come in for my Rockman collection. Would they fit? I know Namco games are often a different shape than most carts.

Some of the games available locally are:

Taito: Akira, Flipul, Minelvaton Saga
Namco: Wagyan Land, Namco Classic, Namco Classic II, Family Boxing, Family Circuit, Family Stadium, Family Stadium 87, Famista 91
Sunsoft: Batman

Or, are there better options? Genesis/Mega Drive cases look like they would be too big for the Famicom cartridges.

Check BootGod (http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/pcb.php).

Though I doubt they're compatible.

Interesting website. I'd never heard of it before.

It does list "form factor" which is helpful. With that and the photo, it's easy to see that Namco Classic II is much taller than a regular cart. So at least I know which cases would be too big.

Megadrive Bitboxes hold standard Famicom carts comfortably, and you can print out an insert for them, like a DVD case: https://stoneagegamer.com/bitbox-sega-game-case.html
