Post whatever oddities in Famicom art (cover art, manga manuals, etc.) you can find.
For example, in the cover art for Super Mario Bros., Mario has four fingers on one hand and five in the other. This is especially odd, because four-fingered characters are taboo in Japan.

We all know that Triceraton isn't in this game.
But if you look closer, you'll notice a cameo.
It looks like Mario's pinky finger is just hidden from the perspective.
I guess the taboo about four fingers has to do with the tradition of cutting the pinky that the Yakuza were known to uphold? It's the most important finger when gripping, and cutting it basically disables you from using a sword effectively.

That's an NES cover, but nobody will yell at you for that. :P

Here's a good video about that topic.

Yeah thanks, I looked it up and learned it's probably more about burakumin than about yakuza.
Mega Man's NES labels for 3, 4 and 5 in US have 4 fingers, but in EU have proper 5 :) and I think that 4 fingers are creepy and ugly

Shooting that robot in the manhood. How brutal.
