Does the FDS work if the springs on the sides of the drive are missing?

Thanks! I think the side springs just help with lowering the drive.

I'd guess it would work without them. Is the FDS not working?

My FDS has some adjustment issues.
Are there any replacement FDS springs?
Update: this includes the spring on the right (i.e. you can lift the top of the drive out without removing springs.)

Actually, I don't think it would cause problems. The worst of it would probably be more Err. 1s occuring.
