Title: Weight of Famicom items
Post by: Demolitionist1 on April 02, 2020, 11:43:16 am
 :help:
I was thinking of asking if we could dedicate this to posting the weights of Famicom games (with/without boxes), Famicom Boxes, Disk Systems and Disk System games (with/without container). I ask this since I'm thinking of getting a Famicom Box and wanted to know the exact weight of it.

Loose FC carts usually weigh about 70 grams for a standard cart, closer to 90 grams for larger sized carts (give or take a bit).  SFC carts are about 90 grams.

Boxed games vary a lot, mostly depending on how thick the manual is and whether it has a plastic or a cardboard box.

Thanks for that. I do know that for consoles, the weight of these I've seen on the forum:

Famicom (varies): 620-680g
Famicom Disk System: Lone System 1200g, full in box 1800g
Twin Famicom: Around 2000g (aka 2kg)

That sounds about right for the consoles.

With the Twin Famicom I know it is just slightly over 2000g (2kg).  That makes a huge difference in shipping cost from Japan since anything over 2kg can't be sent small packet (I sold a couple years ago on here and had to ship them via the more expensive regular rates).
